A third division footballer playing in the SPL will be interesting.
He's up there for the wedge.
He can't be that bad if Championship clubs and if papers are to believed, 3 Premier League teams were after him. And it can't just be the money, most of the other clubs could have given him more. I'd say playing for Gerrard and European football swayed him and of course £20k a week helps

While we all like Rangers on here, I can’t help thinking that playing in the SPL won’t do his career too many favours.
I really can't see us offering the most money, even those bastards Celtic would have offered him more along with most of the English clubs like Villa etc. Like I said, a lot has to do with Gerrard. Anyway, you still haven't said if he is any good or not.
I get your point, but surely Europa League football will be good for him and the Scottish League will toughen him up, if indeed he needs toughened up.
the games vs celtic will. but not sure about the rest of the domestic fixtures. he's a very good player, but he's gone for the money. he'll improve at rangers, but not as much as he would in the championship, or the prem as it's much more competitive.
dont take that as a negative. he's still a very good player and he's signing for you.

Yes, he is very good. far too good for your inferior football. My feeling is, and l mean this very sincerely, he will get bored by the end of this season, and will ask to play his football elsewhere in Europe, where his immense skills will be tested more than a two team league can offer him!
If our owner wasn't such a cvnt he'd have had Joe tied up on a decent contract and you'd have had to pay £3m+ for him. Mind you, none of that would have gone back into the playing staff, so good luck to anyone who takes advantage of his stupidity.
And without starting an arguement, yes I get all you guys take the piss out of the Scottish League, but there have been loads of Championship players gone to Scotland and been utter ****e and couldn't hack it then gone back down south and been heroes.
