Interesting article about the altitude affects on the turbos and cooling.
You might well be right re engine well turbo failures. While the FIA dictated a max of 125,000 rpm I think most teams designed to 100,000rpm for normal operation and 125,000rpm for, as you say quali. If I remember correctly back in 2013 when the engines were in development Mexico with it's altitude was not on the cards.Could have some engine failures, according to the article they will have to spin the turbo up from 100,000 rpm to the maximum 125,000 - which I'm assuming is quali spec?
