In order to qualify for the CL a club must win the SPL first. Higdon proved that he can score I that league.
Obviously, the CL Requires more subtlety than the SPL, but Higdon would have been excellent at allowing those kind of strikers to recover. Instead we have gone for Amido Balde and have Bangura, both of whom are unproven in the SPL never mind the CL, so obviously we needed a big strong striker and for the title Higdon fits the bill.

I recall some people saying BBJ was not suited to European football.......ask Liverpool about him.

One season he was top of the scoring charts.. the rest of his time in the SPl was average at best! He worse than Kris Boyd!

Alfreð Finnbogason?

According to Wiki, he spent "a part of his childhood in Edinburgh while his father studied in the city. Alfreð played for the reputed boys football club Hutchison Vale and became a fan of Hibernian ..."
