And that's how it should be. These players need to stop pissing about and arrive on time, they are paid a small fortune and some can't even follow simple orders.

Of course if there are reasons like traffic or delays then Tim should adapt but if it's constant then no excuses.

Kuyt was a decent player but that's after he adjusted his game and became a work horse and over time developed into a good squad player but I mentioned him as at feyenoord he scored 71 goals in 100 games, league games and that is bordering on ridiculous! This is why I struggle to get excited about players from the Dutch league as you're right there are technical players but it's easy to show technique in a league where players like Kuyt and Alitdore can score over 30 league goals a season.

Yeah it's no secret the standard of defending is pretty poor but there's still been some huge successes that have come from the Eredivisie. Ruud, Suarez, Huntelaar in terms of goal scorers have had great careers and there's the likes of Robben, Rafa, Sneijder and currently Strootman who's having a fine start with Roma.

Surprised at Holtby for being late, he struck me as the type of guy who'd be first to arrive and last to depart everything.
 
Has anything happened in this transfer yet? A third of it gone already and the biggest transfer is Darren McDonald-Berger's loan move from Doncaster to Scunthorpe.

Roll on 10.59pm on the 31st. Who will Utd panic buy for £30M at the last minute?

LOL.... Maybe his time is coming when Adebayor gets injured, Sherwood will go 433, Chadli on the left, Lamela on the right, Bobby up top.

All in tandem bringing flair, showboating and goals. At least that's what Baldini told Levy in the summer to expect this season!

In pre season it looked/ sounded a devastating trio when looking at each player's recent form and I'd like to think that at some point, it'll become as good as it sounded.

One thing I will say in regards to Chadli, is that Cove mentioned he would be a slow starter. Here's hoping we'll get to see the real Nacer in the not so distant future.

Just saw this quote from Sherwood

"We have several attacking options within our squad for the
remaining dozen or so games of the season after Jermain departs
and we shall keep our options under review.

enable us to vary our shape when required."

So Chadli if fit (he does appear injury prone) will get his chance and suggests he will go 433.
 
Rumours we are getting Isaac Cuenca on loan this January. Never even heard of him. Any good?
 
After absolutely despising Chadli, I've come completely around to thinking he may just deserve a starting spot. He gets the traffic running in the right direction on the left, gets the ball downfield and puts it into good places pretty quickly and efficiently. He could have scads of assists on a team with a top striker.

What PNP said, talented crock. Though I'm not sure of why we're linked with another wide player.

A striker has to be priority really, I think Defoe showed why you need a good striker on the bench. As much as I like seeing youngsters succeed I think Kane needs a loan spell in the Prem before being really ready to become a proper first team striker. If we don't buy anyone and Tim puts faith in Kane then so be it, I really hope he can produce when needed but I think it's a lot of pressure for a young player. Kane definitely has the potential to be a good Premier League striker but I'm not sure he's ready to have the mantle of super sub/ 3rd choice just yet.
 
Cutting to the chase I wouldn't be disapinted to see the following:

Defoe gone - Done (good luck to him, but we need someone more consistent that adds more from open play)
Holtby on loan to a prem team
Siggy sold
CE used in the VDV role with Lennon, Andros and Lamela as wingers, and Lamela being used in behind at the end of games
Chadli given till summer to prove he can add anything to a game
New LB
New young keeper to replace brad
Cash in on one of Sandro (who I love but is injury prone), Capoue (i really like but not getting games), or Dembele (good alround player but not enough assists for me)
New Suarezy/Tevezy style striker to give Ade and Soldado competion
Soldado to buy a goal from open play, I don't know who sells them but people talk about "so and so couldn't buy a goal...."
Livermore and carrol brought back into the fold after the summer

Is that too much to ask? :emoticon-0102-bigsm
 
Reckon Sherwood will be getting rid of Holtby and Capoue on the back of today. If they can't get a look in with Paulinho, Sandro, Townsend, Sigurdsson and Lamela out then they haven't really got much hope have they.
 
Sherwood on Ekotto.

Sherwood later confirmed that Benoit Assou-Ekotto would remain
on loan with QPR for the rest of the season despite the defender
revealing he was keen on returning to White Hart Lane.
Assou-Ekotto admitted he was hoping for another chance to
impress following Sherwood's appointment as Andre Villas-Boas'
successor, but the new Spurs manager said the left-back "will
stay where he is".

Then Lamela

"We know what a talented player Erik is and we also understand
how players need time to settle," said Sherwood.
"He's needing that time to acclimatise to a new country. He
doesn't speak English and with the tempo of the games,
especially over the Christmas period when they come thick and
fast, he hasn't been 100 per cent fit.
"He's still feeling fatigued in one of his thighs so we are being
very cautious with him. We don't want that to turn into a real
injury problem so we're going to take it nice and steady with him.
"I really want to put him on the stage when he's ready to perform
rather than let people judge him when he's really half-cooked."
When asked if Lamela had a long-term future at the club,
Sherwood said: "Absolutely, he won't be leaving on loan in this
transfer window."
 
Re benny...sherwood needs to have a way of sorting out the left back problem if he aint recalling him...we have a problem there and not sorting this out will be costly for the team and for sherwood as it was with avb
