I would say I'm surprised that no one has started this thread, but bearing in mind that we had loads of new players join us in the summer, it's likely to be a quiet window for us. However, despite this, is think it's fair to say there are still parts of the team that need backup and/or reinforcements. Use this thread to post any rumours or speculation you find, and feel free to post your opinions on who we should be bringing to WHL, or getting rid of. How will Sherwood's involvement affect our incoming transfers? or won't it? or Will it all be down to Baldini and Levy? Will we recall Benny? Will we recall young Tommy? Do we need to bring in another top striker due to our lack of goals? Do we get rid of Adebayor? Do we need another CB? Will we lose any players ourselves, due to the situation we find ourselves in? Could some more of our players who aren't in Sherwood's plans end up going out on loan? Finally, sorry Moorpheus, I know you like to post the Transfer window threads. But as I'm sure you know, I like to comment on them and I can't wait any longer! IN: Jermain Defoe - Toronto FC - Loan OUT: Simon Dawkins - Derby County - £500,000 Shaq Coulthirst - Leyton Orient - Loan Jon Obika - Brighton & Hove Albion - Loan Ryan Fredricks - Millwall - Loan Adam Smith - Bournemouth - Undisclosed Jermain Defoe - Toronto FC - £6.4m Lewis Holtby - Fulham - Loan
Will we recall young Tommy? ====================== QPR fan reckon he's been disappointing. He's on season long loan anyway I think, which as I understand it, means that he can't be recalled. Cue Spurcat....
that could well be correct. I wonder if the movement from other clubs might force our hand? We're not at our best (biggest understatement of 2013), but if others decide to strengthen, it could cause us even more of a battle for a top 4 spot.
BAE would make sense, unless Sherwood really trusts Fryers / agrees with the punitive line. Carroll to a PL club is the next option (if there are any interested takers) .
Pritchard may be recalled from Swindon...and loaned to a Championship club. That's two additions already!
First Sherwood needs time to identify his best side and then decide where we need to strengthen. This transfer window comes too soon unless a top class deep lying playmaker becomes available. If Jermain Defoe decides to move on then we may need another striker. He's another Tom Huddlestone type player who needs to play every week.
If we actually did sign Pirlo, I would likely puke rainbows. ...then shout at the TV as BBC commentators have constantly mispronounced his name for his entire career. It's "Peer-lo", not "Pur-lo" FFS!
Tancredi Palmeri (italian reporter) seems to think that Lamela could go on loan to Inter, but it wont be decided until the end of the window when sherwood's has had time to "test him". what a shambles it will be if our record transfer leaves after 6 months
IMHO Van Gaal will suffice for gossip for the rest of the season. He has some big shoes to fill with Dameow now departed.
Tabloid journalists need to get better continuity - a couple of weeks ago they're saying AVB was sacked for not playing Lamela, now we're hearing we'll loan him to Inter or Atletico in January.
We need to keep Lamela and give him games. Sherwood needs to work out a Plan B to fit Lamela into games, when we need/want to change things, especially in Europe. Also, he needs to stick with Rose/Fryers at LB. Please, please, please, do not bring back disco Benny. The man has proven himself to be a waste of space. Let's move on, please.
SC mentioned other day we can recall Carroll so it's possible as Sherwood rates him but be a bold move as to recall him would mean he needs to play, otherwise his development is stalling.
He's better off at QPR as Redknapp plays him for 90 minutes each week. If loaned to premier league club he will be dropped after a bad performance so it's too risky as it's difficult enough finding the right club for a loanee.
