Well how do I sum that up ?? I thought we were by far the better side for most of the game bar mins 46-52. It looked as though the Lads had a half time nap and were still drowsy !! And why oh why as schoolboys do we get taught to have a player defending each post at Corners .......... for exactly the reason their goal went in !!
Sess was poor, I like the look of Celustka, Roberge, Altidore and Giaciarini considering it was their home debut. We just lacked a little composure in the final 3rd. Hopefully that will come when things start to settle down a little.

Somebody should tell JOS to cease forth from the aimless looking punts up to the front men. We have wide men to play through !!

In summary overall, I was pleased with what I saw posession wise and although a defeat was far from ideal........ I keep the faith in what lies ahead.

No great surprise there. I know the entire Sunderland supporting universe thinks he's brilliant, but I think he's so hit and miss he should be sold to Qatar or China if we can get a decent price.

Giaccharini can play in the hole and Moberg Karlson wide left.

Sess is ( in a phrase I first heard from my Dad about 50 years ago) a luxury we can't afford. (he was talking about George Herd for anyone old enough to remember)

Although I would accept the sell of Sess (begrudgingly) your suggested solution is shocking

Handing a starting place to a 19 (?) year old in his debut season is just stupid imo.

Sign Quagallerria if Sess leaves.

20 shots on target and stelkenberg played well, won't be like this all the time. I'm sure it may just be first day nerves and that we will settle.

3 shots on target mate

We had plenty off target but I think I'm right in thinking almost all our shots were long shots?

I remember George Herd , but he wasn't anywhere near as good as Sess. But I see your Dads point.

T0 many similar types in that side. johnson, in and out, doesn't do enough, Likewise Larsson, likewise, Sess, likewise Giaccherini. Johnson and Giaccherini are going nowhere (although Johnson has a hell of a lot to prove this season) Can't afford to have Sess in the same side. he's not a striker, like said, in and out in the middle, has to go. Same with the Swede. Or is he a turnip or even a potato. i really haveno idea.

We are going down this season no doubt about that, a manager who has no tactical knowledge, O Shea is league one standard, and when will ANYBODY score ?, reminicint of last season when we had to rely on Fletcher.

Classic smash and grab thats how I would sum it up. Westwood never had anything to do but deal with back passes and they score from their only corner of the game

Get Watmore up front!

So who do you support? No, really!!

Same ****e, different skin! Typical Sunderland. Huge crowd - full expectations and again a serious let down. Who told john O'Shea he is Paul Scholes? What idiots put high balls into a defence with the biggest CH in the league? ARRRRGH!
Westwood hardly troubled. RB nervy start but played well after that and a great attempt on goal. Colback was excellent and improved in going forward. JOS good but distribution will never improve! Roberge - excellent footballer. Johnson - good in flashes but tends to overhit crosses. LW - the italian was not up to speed on what I thought would be there. Cabral - excellent game, finishing poor but will pose some threat infuture from midfield. Altidore - good game overall and unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Seb and Sess - mediocre and expect a bit more. Subs were just hopeful moves. Short passing has improved vastly. The 5-15 yards ones were where we did do well.
When you are on top you have to make it count and we didn't...sound familiar???
Come on lads. Could do better

In summary, to call you a cretin, would be an injustice to the handicapped.

For me we were like Swansea without Michu. Loads of tippy tappy passing yet no end product. First half played well, yet we just aren't creating.
Hopefully we get someone in the middle soon. Altidore's hold up play is phenomenal though and Fletch should have a field day up top with him
