Hull is one of the rare stadiums I haven't been to with Luton. That being the case I had no opinion on the club either way, didn't dislike them, didn't like them.

I would like to say that all changed today.

Firstly, to lower ticket prices for away fans against a team you're in a relegation scrap with is absolutely brilliant. I even spent £20 on food and drink in the ground which I haven't done anywhere in years but had absolutely no problem with today.

Hull fans showed up and impressed me. I've seen such poor home support in this league and the premier league over the past two seasons so to see and hear 22,000 home fans singing loud and proud was a breath of fresh air.

Game was a classic 0-0 with one mistake deciding the game.

Regardless of the result, I have left the ground with nothing but positive things to say about Hull City as a club. I hope you stay up (unless it's at our expense).

You did set your Satnav for "MKM Stadium, Hull" didn't you? :emoticon-0138-think

I’m sure I read on here a number of times how Crooks needs a rest and get Palmer in

Crooks just doesn’t have the legs to last a full half, let alone 90 minutes. I’m confused as to why he still looks so unfit after several months here. Palmer is a luxury player and a luxury we can’t afford. I’ve been critical of him but I think today would’ve been a good game for Slater to be involved, if only we had some more height and physicality in midfield elsewhere.

100% this, our recruitment in midfield has been good. Our recruitment for strikers has been the opposite
I don’t think it has been good for midfield

Also the three players who came on as subs were all selles signings in January!!
To me that’s not good enough
We signed players to strengthen the first eleven ffs
Plus Joseph another new signing came off!!
And on the bench Egan another new signing! That’s so ****ing wasteful

I can think of loads, come on! Our home form and inability to win games like that at home were exactly why we didn't make the play offs.
Seem to remember a consensus of opinion that we wouldn’t have been promoted from league one if fans had been allowed in the stadium, so this problem goes way back.

To be fair, our 3 big signings in Jan were Matazo, Barry and Gelhardt. Gelhardt has been a very good signing - the other two we have been unlucky with.

I think metazo, alzate, puerta and zambrano are all good enough at this level. If we sign the latter two.
For me crooks is showing why he ended up in the MLS, we’d be better off with Marc than Kyle
I honestly think the midfield is good enough at this level, we are just weak up top and at fullback

Most annoying game for a long time.

This was always a hazardous game. The talk all week of us having sorted out our home form was ridiculous. We won two games, against crap teams. We've achieved nothing and our home form was still ****e even before another defeat today. Again we looked overconfident on the pitch. We didn't match their intensity. First few minutes Puerta put three long throws into good areas but no one competed with their defenders who headed them clear easily.

We barely won a header in the game. I said at half time how Hughes was being bullied by Morris and then that immediately cost us for the goal. Morris easily won the header and caused the problem. Obviously it's a freak bounce but it didn't come out of nowhere, it came from a bad situation we got into by being beaten in the air close to our goal. Hughes gets a lot of plaudits but he has a lot of shaky moments and I thought he was pretty terrible on the whole today.

Morris finally met his match when Crooks came on and clattered him. He seemed annoyed he wasn't the biggest guy on the pitch any more. In hindsight it seems daft to have left Crooks out from the start for this one. It was annoying how easily Morris won everything until then. I get that he's a big guy but ffs, someone compete.

Our quality on the ball was ****e too. So many passes off the pitch in the first half. So many balls overhit through to the keeper in the second. Never seen a keeper gather so many simple balls yet not make a meaningful save, apart from the Hughes one late on.

Still think it’s down to pre season or maybe age is catching up with him, Slater is limited but a worker. Palmer blows hot and cold, another I’ve seen have some really decent games ( not today though) Physical and height wise probably only Crooks and Palmer fit the bill. It’s having that player with consistency which is causing us a problem. Shame Slater isn’t 6ft because Puerta, Alzate and Slater is so lightweight against a physical side like Luton.

Missed the whole game because of a family event I couldn't avoid - had to make do with occasional glances at my phone.

Just caught up with the threads on here during the drive back (the Missus was at the wheel). I guess I need to watch the highlights which I imagine will be short, but the comments on here paint a picture of a lack of intensity, a general cluelessness in creating anything, **** defending for the goal and the usual utterly toothless display upfront.

Is that about the long and the short of it?
The long is fecking ****e, the short is ****e. :emoticon-0138-think

Hughes is another Harry maguire
Got his own chant so the fans love him
And all his mistakes are brushed under the carpet
Agree about crooks he needs to play
For his physical attributes and he does score

Harry Maguire was one of the best players we’ve ever had. His career since playing for us is testament to that.

Hughes isn’t even close to that level.

This from the BBC report sums us up.......'coming against a team who had previously taken just eight points out of a possible 57 on the road'
That's Hull City..Not saying I told you so, but with our history its always bound to happen....Now that the dust has settled there are so many questions to ask....Why on earth play Joseph? His confident must be lower than a snakes belly..Why put Geldhart on the wing? He's far more effective playing a central role, i.e. both his goals vs Plymouth and Oxford have come when he's in the six yard box...not on the fecking wing. Surely Burstow and Slater would have been better subs than Crooks and Lincoln...Why take off Puerta when he's a creative player?

Hate to say it, but the result of losing to Luton could have a very bad knock on effect for the remaining games...Hope we survive. Clutching at straws...
