In fairness this was clearly something they should have foreseen. Barnes only played 165 games in the last 4 years but Diaby played 172, that is almost 2 more games per season and does clearly highlight Barnes was far more injury prone.

What's forseen is irrelevant.
We can't forsee how this will look in a year or 2 either and perhaps it might change.

Clearly this season we will finish lower than last season. Spurs Chelsea and Liverpool all better than us.
