The last player I predicted to play a blinder was Shelvey when he ended up scoring the only goal away at Leeds in Jan 2022 and begining our rocket up the table. Learn from the master.

Unfortunately you'll need to join the prediction league to gain recognition

I'm a little concerned for Barnes. Feels like.one of those transfers that might never get off the ground. Bad injury now, loads of options in his position one of them flying right now, the others well established 1st teamers. Hope I'm wrong but just doesn't seem like we might end up being the right move for him.

I think we lacked faith in Gordon. I called Howe out on that about 12 times last season, his treatment of new players is generally crap, but Gordon had a particularly cold start.

So, when we sold Maxi, they decided to spunk it all on a player in an identical position who was far too similar to Anthony Gordon, a player we just signed for 40m.

Except then Gordon was player of the tournament as England went on to win silverware, meaning he has now won more trophies in the past three generations than Newcastle have, this made it clear that Howe had no choice but to play Gordon and Barnes has been mostly left on the sidelines and redundant.

    Now he's injured.

That's my version of events because it paints Newcastle as lacking faith and not being ****ing idiots, so it's a more positive picture.

    But, Eddie Howe:

But, Barnes started the game when he got injured? Not Gordon.

He was there to cover the exhausted Gordon, who was too tired to play the game

this is the same Gordon who proceeded to dominate the entire game when he was introduced

if thats Howe's version of exhausted I'd hate to see him fresh

We can't really do that anymore, as the team is generally good right now, and we don't have players like Shelvey. I would predict Laecelles to play a blinder by that logic, but he never gets off the bench.

You have said many times that there are no easy games in the Premiership. I disagree as it's obviously nonsense but you're not suggesting Villa should stroll that game are you?

    Barnes 6 games, 1 goal, 2 assists

    Diaby 13 games, 2 goals, 3 assists

Only difference I see is that one of them got injured.
