A mate of mine is involved in that side of football. He said a while back we are gaining a reputation as ultra professional and good to deal with. It only improves our standing in the game.
Woke up to a message from a friend who's in Newcastle for his son's graduation. He was out on the town and in a nice restaurant, met an old friend, who's in football, and had a bit of a drunken catch up.
He's not a gossip, so wouldn't say a lot, but did mention that Batth is staying and the issue of who's captain has been discussed.
I'd be happy for him to be captain ...

Not surprised re Evans, I don’t think we would have actually extended the contract if he didn’t get injured - always assumed it was a bit of a goodwill gesture (similar to Willis).
Pritchard & Gooch will have my best wishes if they do go - been absolute top professionals here (Gooch especially).
Out of all those, i'd be happy for Batth to stay. With everyone fit he is the only one who would likely feature in our first 11
Someone on RTG said we’ve had a bid accepted for Frigan, not sure how reliable the poster is though.
It was all positive although it was a drunken message and little detail. But he's in lis late sixties and it's been a while since I've seen him this excited.
Batth captain, O9 vice would be my choice
