Captains?

You need leaders who stand up and encourage and speak, not just one.

Robertson has done that this season.

I would hand anyone else that, especially not vvd as he's just too blase half the time. He played liked he cared last night but has to do a lot more in the bread and butter games.

Konate doesn't talk on the park so not him.

Trent is a no no no for me

There's no midfield general in this side. That for me is the issue

Robbo or Ally moving forward, but I have a problem with goalies as captains as they can't follow the ref around the pitch haranguing them, as this seems to be part of their duties nowadays for all teams.

nobody wanted to hear why we beat utd 7-0 at the time but here it is.

1. casimero was half injured and couldn't run

2. utd came with bad attitude to slow game down first 25 and then missed 2 or 3 chances when the dominated.

3. Anthony never tracked on jot and left robbo have the freedom of the park.

4. every shot went in.

5. utd players lost their heads totally at 0-2

6. ten haag lost his head and took Fred off not casemiro and left utd with a cry baby, a show boater, 4 defenders who were shot mentally and for good measure a crocked midfield.

7. anfield was hopping

8. we actually played well

let's not kid ourselves. utd midfield made fabinho look good. that should tell you we caught them right on the chin and then folded.

the same for Bournemouth game. we missed one or two then got caught with a punch and couldn't get off the canvas as we had no stamina

Agree with most of that apart from everything went in. We literally missed at least another two or three sitters in that second half.

I asked about captains because you were seemingly scrapping most of the current team. Henderson and Milner are excellent captains so in both their absences, who cuts the mustard? I like a fiery Scot like Robbo, in fact I like fiery players. We have a dearth of them atm.

milner has to go.

henderson will stay but he is likely not going to start.

there are few I'd let be Captain. Robertson is the one.

Might be a low bar given the season we're having, but Milner has been one of our most consistent and reliable players whenever he's been called upon and whatever position he's been asked to play.
Obviously he can't go on forever and we need to replace him with someone for the future, but I don't understand why he gets so much grief on here. If only the rest of them gave as much we might not be in such a position.

Milner was one of our best players on Wednesday - head and shoulders above Fab. And that is really, really depressing, isn't it?

I think its not exactly milner per se, but that he's still being called upon at 37. He is indicative of our poor squad depth, this season he also indicates quite how poor some of the squad are.

Again it's not milner it's what he represents, you'd really hope that we had something better to call upon.

Why not? Sounds like you're planning on assassinating him. And you call everyone else for being too critical of him <yikes>

<whistle>

I have no issue with Milner. My issue is when he's bought on for his experience to help see out a tight game; he usually plays like a young lad making his debut in these scenarios.
