Agree with this, depends how deluded his parents are and what they advise, like you say the smart decision is to stay put, but a very hard decision to make, I remember in the mid 80’s I got offered a trial and YTS at Newcastle but turned it down as I wanted Sunderland, never happened and joined the Army insteadI'd normally agree, but if he's got any sense he'll stay put. Purely because, let's be honest, with Newcastle's billions, there's slim to no chance he ever gets in their first team.
Whereas, we've had a steady stream of youngsters breaking through into the first team in the past few years. We will 100% be better for his development / future.
One of those head Vs heart decisions. I'd understand if he went, but it would be silly, imo.
