The wider quotes from tonight from the echo are below:
Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night, Johnson said that young Liverpool left-back Tony Gallacher is a player of interest as they look to recruit in the left-back position.
He would not be drawn on claims that a deal was imminent, but said he was optimistic of further arrivals soon.
"I've seen the media reports, we know of him," he said.
"He's a player on a list of ten or twelve options.
"We always want two for every position, and the plan is always to go in with probably 20 senior players and maybe four of the better younger ones to supplement that.
"It's a long season and we saw how much those injuries affected us.
"We're in the market, and we'll see what happens.
"Sometimes these things can take a week, two weeks, sometimes they drop in a day.
"We're certainly in the mix for a few and depending on what has happened behind the scenes today, we'll see.
"Watch this space."
We could be in the mix for 15 players....who knows until it happens. The main thing is that it's the right 15 players to fit the plan not 15 lads from oxford (or similar). I'm confident we will have the squad the gaffer wants by the end of the window.Should that not be the absolute bare minimum?
I appreciate you can't give us details or such like but with the information you're privy to are you still feeling positive we can make a decent fist of promotion despite our restrictions and financial limitations? We're in the mix for a number of players..but they have to fit into the sustainable budget model. We won't pay over the odds to get them here..which we have done before.
We’ve signed 3 players and are missing our top targets. What a joke.We could be in the mix for 15 players....who knows until it happens. Nobody really knows how many, if any, we have missed out on. I'm choosing to be positive about the season. I think we will get the players in by the end of the window. We’ve signed 3 players and are missing our top targets. What a joke.
I wish I could be positive but I just can’t see how there is any way of being positive. You can’t spin our situation into a positive one. There is about 10 days before we kick off the season and don’t even have a senior full back that’s without mentioning the various other holes in the squad. It is an absolute disgrace to be honest.Nobody really knows how many, if any, we have missed out on. I'm choosing to be positive about the season. I believe we will be competitive in the league, do I believe we will win the league outright..no. Personally, I believe we have a weak spine in the team..and no proven goal scorer at the moment.I appreciate you can't give us details or such like but with the information you're privy to are you still feeling positive we can make a decent fist of promotion despite our restrictions and financial limitations?
Rubberface says a lot of things, wouldnt take much noticeRubberface posted something earlier I saw. Can’t remember the thread
was something about a very influential person behind the scenes not being liked and that not all is well behind the scenes

I'd reserve judgement until the transfer window closes mate. Certainly wouldn't be paying any attention to the WUMs over the road - they are desperate to destabilise things within the fanbase without any proof
They've only got Chaz the donkey up front, we will be fine. Just let him have one on ones with the keeper. We will be fine.I wish I could be positive but I just can’t see how there is any way of being positive. You can’t spin our situation into a positive one. We will lose between 8/10million this year..2 players on 6k a week for 2 years works out over 1million on finacial packages over the term of the contract for those 2 players. 4/6 new players will be a huge investment from the club this year.Right now the club clearly have no ambition for promotion, that’s obvious. Pathetic summer so far.
Thanks for all of these updates over the months and years. I like the sustainable budget model approach as it is the only way forward really. But any idea if the sustainable budget model is say a 3 year one taking in the risk of planned increased revenue from a promotion and 40K crowds? If we try to be sustainable on solely projected league one revenues then may be harder to compete with the spending clubs. If KLD had come in and did this straight after Short I could have lived with that, but two more years down here recovering from the chuckle brothers squandering will be hard to bear. That would be 5 years. We're in the mix for a number of players..but they have to fit into the sustainable budget model. We won't pay over the odds to get them here..which we have done before.
We lost about 10 players tho. Surely we are just replacing the ones we lost.We will lose between 8/10million this year..2 players on 6k a week for 2 years works out over 1million on finacial packages over the term of the contract for those 2 players. 4/6 new players will be a huge investment from the club this year.
No update on timescales. But plans in place for the club commercially and on the recruitment front. We must trust the process and KLD. Remember, he wants to be successful and leave a legacy..plans take time..expectations need to be managed by the club. Thanks for all of these updates over the months and years. So what is the expectation this year, has to be promotion surelyNo update on timescales. But plans in place for the club commercially and on the recruitment front. We must trust the process and KLD.
