I think this is more likely something like Henry Mautis and the mags during the summer. A last minute bid from someone who's not been too close to anything previously that's either a try to gazzump tje main bid or won't stand up when it's looked into closely.

My only concern is if Donald tries to play funny bugger again and change the goal posts. I wouldn't put it past him to try and play bids off against each other, but hopefully this is far enough down that it won't happen.

Some lovely sad and uplifting stories. Feel for everyone who has experienced awful things.
This is mine from 2005 :emoticon-0153-broke and one of the main reasons I don’t get anywhere near as pissed off about footy as I used to (Please ignore the photo:emoticon-0104-surpr) we raised £7000 for the neo natal at James Cook

That is really tragic Janey, and proof that none of us know what's around the corner.

What is a common theme in yours and a lot of other posters on here, who have had the courage to share their sad and worrying times with us, is how the support of friends and family is so important in helping to deal with their problem and re-start their lives. I am heartened by what you have done to raise money to help people in similar need. Well done!

I hope this is just like the mag events in the summer where a bid had been agreed and submitted for approval but another party had made it known that they wanted to Chuck a bid in of the first one went tits up.
Be nice to know there’s someone else interested if the EFL didn’t approve it for whatever reason. Other than that unlikely scenario my hope is that the ITK lads are correct and this is too far down the line for Donald to be able to scupper it

Ball has turned into the invisible man.. Its time he was shown the door too, in fact all of those who have failed and remain at the club.

That's right mate. Total fresh start needed. That's the only reason why I wouldn't want Keane and O'Shea. JOS was a good servant to the club, but also part of it's decline.

Not me, I've only been told that 'FPP' are not 'not involved' ...

... and that's virtually a direct quote and the entirety of what I was told.

This was posted in July and hasn't been contradicted yet.

I was told to remember that FPP have endless caveats in the loan contract, have spent £1m so far and are the biggest current investors.

For @Bigmackem ... I've just had my usual Q&A session, with the lad, for which I had my usual 1% response quota <laugh>

All he did really say was that nothing's significantly changed and he's not aware of any other real bid.
He, in the summer, totally dismissed Storey and Gray which I posted ...

... much to the annoyance of Rubberface who I wasn't having a pop at.

So far this lad has told me very little but, what he has said, has been spot on.

markdonnelly_: I understand the national reports suggesting that American investor Matthew Pauls is eyeing a deal for Sunderland AFC are accurate. Pauls has been keen on a deal for a number of months and has secured financial backing. Full story on @sunechosafc shortly.
Sounds to me as though this leak has come from the buyer side of things, likely Pauls himself, and is probably trying to unsettle the process.

I don’t like Donald as much as everyone, but you can’t blame Donald for someone else being interested in the club, he wouldn’t of leaked it to the sun, he once said he was going to sue Nixon, so it wouldn’t of come from Donald, this is the best deal for Donald, if we get back to the top, we would be worth 300M+
Potentially no dept he would be looking at 30m+ even after he’s sold most of his shares

Lads & lasses - I've had a few beers so bear with me.
I think the delay in the takeover might be down to me!
I've always felt that the fortunes of the lads seem connected in some way to my own ie. Great times when we are doing well and ****ty times when we are doing badly.
Anyway me and the wife have been going through a really bad time for three or four years now (see how it ties in?), and I finally found the courage this weekend to tell her I'm leaving her.
Hopefully by the time I actually **** off the takeover will be done and we can all look forward to happier times!!

I'm not concerned that this rival bid puts us back to square one.

Don't get me wrong, despite pressing refresh a millions times for takeover news, I'm not particularly excited with the Cyril takeover as its been currently described and I think its got warning signals of problems down the line.

But its gone on far too long now and we just need to get the Cyril deal done and move on.

That's the clearest evidence, from anyone, so far mate <cheers>

Hope it all turns out well for you.
