As reported earlier the SMC is making trying to stop disgruntled Hull City supporters from spray painting Allam Out on the side of the KC. A planning application has been submitted to gate the footbridge to stop terrorists with pray paint getting access. One practical thing we can do is write to the City Council and object to the application. Perhaps the Trust would be prepared to co-ordinate the response by the supporters of Hull City AFC? It's part of the 'new plan for the KC-Con' - see diagram below - with the desperate duo on top please log in to view this image
And what happens if the gate at the Argyle St end is locked (maliciously or accidently) during a game ? It's then a potential crush area when fans leave. It's not safe to have a lock on it.
It's completely ****ing ridiculous, the idea that a GATE is going to stop some imaginary terrorist incident. Laughable. It's in the middle of a ****ing park for Christ's sake. A ten year old could get in, gate or no gate.
There shouldn't even be a discisson about whether it's a good idea or not. At best it's going to limit terrorist activities to matchdays only.
Ehab (whilst colouring in a Paw Patrol picture) : So, Mike can you keep us up ? MP: It'll take a lot of hard work. Home games will be the key. If we can win 7 or 8 home games then that'll give us the base to stay up. Ehab (swaps a blue crayon for a red one) Oooh, you've made me go over the lines now. What, yes, er, so home games are key ? MP: Yes, we have to turn the KCOM into a fortress. Ehab (puts down crayon and looks confusingly into the distance then reaches for his Action Man With Beard) Yes a fortress. A Fortress !
I wrote a short piece on what you can do to object to the planning application on CI. Here's the link: http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=8&thread_id=24637&&selpage=0#1
