Sunday 31st July 2011: Kenny Dalglish is set to call upon the services of a number of senior first-team stars for Monday night's friendly with Valerenga in Norway. The likes of Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are ready to join new boys Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson on the flight from John Lennon Airport to Oslo later this afternoon having missed Thursday's trip to Galatasaray. Dalglish confirmed to Liverpoolfc.tv: "Pepe will come with us to Norway and play some part, Glen Johnson should be ready for a game, we think Daniel Agger will be back as well and we will also have Charlie, Jordan and Stewart to play." -
Monday 1st August 2011: Goals from Andy Carroll and Daniel Agger (2) secured a 3-3 draw with Valerenga as grief-stricken Oslo hosted Liverpool's penultimate friendly ahead of the 2011-12 campaign. Early strikes from Lars Iver Strand and Fegor Ogude put the Norwegian side ahead but Liverpool clawed it back to lead 3-2 before a last-gasp goal from Mohammed Fellah gave the home side a share of the spoils. Kenny Dalglish can take the return of Agger, Glen Johnson, and Pepe Reina as positives, while Stewart Downing's delivery was impressively accurate, notably in assisting Carroll's goal just before half-time. For line ups, statistics and more details go here: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/match/fix...rpool-2011-8-1-18-00-00/last-match-statistics - Kenny Dalglish admits there is still work to do ahead of our season opener in two weeks' time following a 3-3 draw with Valerenga on Monday night. - Managing director Ian Ayre today laid flowers at Oslo's Domkirke church as Liverpool FC paid its respects to the victims of the devastating events of 10 days ago. He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's very moving. I've just been talking to somebody about the parallels between this and Hillsborough - losing lots of people so needlessly and then seeing such an amazing tribute. "Coming here to see this is very moving, but it's great to see all the people coming together. That's what happened back in our city in 1989'. - David Moli hit his second hat-trick of pre-season as Liverpool U18s continued their impressive form with a 4-0 win over Shrewsbury Town. Mike Marsh's side have now hit 29 goals in five friendly games and we invite you to watch the best of the action now.
Kenny Dalglish admits there is still work to do ahead of our season opener in two weeks' time following a 3-3 draw with Valerenga on Monday night. The boss was pleased with the performance of his players during the second half in Oslo as two late goals from Daniel Agger ensured the game ended level. Andy Carroll had earlier bagged his second goal of pre-season by converting one of several accurate crosses from Stewart Downing. Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It was obviously more pleasing in the second half, we were closing down higher up the pitch. In the first half we stood off. They wanted time to play and we gave them time to play. "You've got Pepe (Reina) back after his operation, Daniel Agger back, which was good. Raheem (Sterling) got a wee run. Stephen Sama got a wee run as well, so there are some positives. "We've got to start looking towards the (league) games. The important thing is we've got to be better when we don't have the ball - but the boys aren't shy of hard work. There's an educated week's training ahead." The trip to Norway brings to an end the travelling for this pre-season, with the Reds having visited China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey before Monday's game. Dalglish has one more match to fine tune his side for the season opener against Sunderland - a showpiece friendly against Valencia at Anfield. Dalglish added: "The travelling is necessary nowadays because of the stature of the club. It's something we have to do and something we're glad to do. You want to show gratitude to people for their fantastic support. Coming here is much the same - it's a pleasure to come here and play. "We've had a wee bit of travel but that's to be expected. That won't impinge in any way, shape or form the work we're going to have to do."
Tuesday 2nd August 2011: Dirk Kuyt believes Liverpool will be ready to fire on all cylinders when they face Sunderland in their Barclays Premier League curtain-raiser â despite some mixed results in pre-season. The Reds have struggled to produce their best form during their first five friendly encounters, shipping 15 goals in the process. However, the Dutchman insists all that matters is that they are ready for their first league clash of the 2011-12 campaign. - Andy Carroll was quick to send a message of support to Liverpool Football Club's 'Ability Counts' team following last night's friendly with Valerenga in Norway. The striker took time out to offer his best wishes to the squad, who will head off to Switzerland today aiming to mount a successful defence of their European Disabled football tournament title. The Reds U16s will also be in the country, taking part in the Swiss U16 Cup - a competition Carroll played in for Newcastle. The tests that have come back are far better than what was anticipated, so we are delighted by that. We've had some very positive news and will just wait for the progress to continue." He added: "We've had positive news but the date (of a return) the club has stated remains the same." - Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Alexander Doni were all officially introduced as Liverpool players today. The Reds scooped the accolade in the Social Department of a Professional Club category in recognition of the outstanding work being done by the club's community team. And with Bygroves unable to attend the gala in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland due to a prior engagement, Ayre was on hand to accept it for him. Afterwards, the Reds' Managing Director told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's fantastic that our club has been recognised as a role model for its community department. But he is genuinely a good fella.' - Stewart Downing believes Liverpool will see the best years of his career and admits he is currently revelling in the form of his life.

"We'll all help each other, stick together and see what happens." -
Sorry for no updat yesterday. It was a big day though, so heres a quick review: Liverpool beat Valencia by 2 goals to 0 in their final pre season friendly of this summer at Anfield. Goals from Andy Carroll and Dirk Kuyt gave Liverpool the win. A much needed clean sheet was also achieved. More details at: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/match/fixtures/first-team/liverpool-v-valencia-7739/last-match-statistics - Glen Johnson was taken off with an injury early on. But Martin Kelly made a more than worthy replacement. We are still awaiting an update on Johnson's situation. - Adam, Henderson and Downing all made their first Anfield appearances for the reds. - - Liverpool agreed a fee with Hull City for the transfer of Daniel Ayala. The Championship club have now been given permission to discuss personal terms with the defender. - Sunday 7th August 2011. Steven Gerrard thinks Luis Suarez can have an even bigger impact on the Barclays Premier League than Carlos Tevez. Tevez netted an impressive 24 goals last term to help Manchester City win the FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League. But our skipper reckons Suarez can outshine his South American counterpart on the back of being named player of the tournament during Uruguay's Copa America triumph this summer. "Luis is a special player, he really is," Gerrard is reported as saying in today's national newspapers. "He's so good. His movement, his touch, his awareness and the way he takes his goals is fantastic'. - Fabio Aurelio hopes our absence from European football could help him stay fit and answer Liverpool's left-back conundrum this season. The Brazilian is one of the most technically gifted defenders in the country but injuries have restricted him to 131 appearances in five years at Anfield. "This season we have our games mostly once a week so it could be a good season for me to have a run of games and fill that gap. "I had an injury to my calf at the beginning of pre-season so I've been working in the gym and on the bike. I have been involved with the team in the last week'. (I'd be happy with Aurelio at left back. If he can stay fit!!) - Jamie Carragher insists he won't give up on his title-winning dream until the day he retires. "I won't stop hoping or *believing, but I am realistic enough to know that time is running out for me to win it," our No.23 is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror. "It's harder to win the title now than it has ever been. Even finishing in the top four is tougher than ever now - as we've found out'.
According to Caughtoffside(This is a pile of piss in my opinion) Harry Redknapp is planning a £9 million bid for Lucas Leiva. Firstly I don't think Liverpool would sell and secondly Liverpool would tell any manager that made such a paltry offer to do one and not insult them. If the useless Carrick went for near £19 million. Lucas has to be worth £28 million.
Sorry for no update yesterday. I had a long day in london (yeah yeah, I know what your thinking) and then missed my train home. I dont think I missed out on any thing big though. Tuesday 9th August 2011: Jamie Carragher believes Steven Gerrard could enjoy another five years at the top - and claims the skipper's return next month will give everyone at the club a major lift as our quest for honours takes shape. "It's a great honour to lead the team out but the fact is I'd prefer not to be doing it because like everyone else I want our captain back," Carragher said. "I speak to Stevie all the time and he's desperate to get back involved. The quicker he is back the better'. Carra also said this about Suarez: "The best foreign players deliver straight away and Luis has proved he's in that top bracket." - England's friendly against the Netherlands has been called off due to the riots. I feel for Liverpool this is a bit of a relief ahead of the Sunderland game. - Does any one have news on Glen Johnson's injury?
Wednesday 10th August 2011: Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish today joined players at the club in appealing for calm and an immediate end to the incidents seen in Liverpool over the last couple of days. Said the Reds boss: "The city has made incredible progress over the past few years and no-one wants to see our restored reputation damaged by what we have witnessed over the last couple of days. For everyone's sake let's stop this now and pull together for the benefit of the whole community." - Lucas Leiva has declared himself fit and desperate to take part in Liverpool's season opener against Sunderland on Saturday. "I'm fit. I didn't have a full holiday and was training with the national team, so it won't be a problem for me to be available for Saturday," the 24-year-old told Liverpoolfc.tv at Melwood. "I am really excited to be back and really looking forward to the new season. We're in a good mood at the moment and hopefully we'll start well on Saturday." - Stewart Downing can't wait to play alongside Luis Suarez this season in a team he thinks has the potential to be 'the real deal'. -
