Decent piece of 'pulling it out the bag' by Rosberg there. As you've all said, an awful lot depends on the start. If the RBR cars can get ahead, could make it interesting as it will shag Mercedes strategy on the soft tires - the car is a bit crap in traffic, as has been shown, so they might be forced to try an undercut with at least one of them, which means a far earlier pit stop.
The run to the first corner is one hell of a drag race, being on pole isn't necessarily a good thing here. Get a poor start and you'll be well down.
I think by turn 1 today, you might well be able to call the championship. A poor start for either Mercedes could be irretrievable.
Yep, I think its all about the first corner, if the 2 Mercs. come out of it 1 and 2. its gonna be another borefest, if a Red Bull or two get in between them we could be in for a great race?
I don't know, Mercedes usually have a bit extra for quali, and with both RBR's within .5 and the Ferrari's only a little bit further back I don;t see the Mercs having it all their own way even if both do get great starts
Ferrari should have a strong race today despite their awful quali. Their issue yesterday was they could not extract the pace from the super soft. They are good off the line and they went superbly on the soft tyre and I can see them leap frog the Bulls if they can make stint one go long. Rosberg has been awful this weekend- if Ham gets to turn one ahead he should win this easily. If Rosberg does, I think he has looked nervous as hell so we will see.
Why does Hamilton get a prime spot for the anthem. I do feel sorry for him when he's forced into these cringey situations
Lewis should be punished for that. Sure he hasn't gained a place but he would have lost had he braked properly I think.
Rosberg also cut corner which made Hamiltons advantage far greater. SC has evened it out so its either penalty for both Mercs or none.
