Apologies for the delay in posting this thread, work has been manic the past two days and I've not been able to find a minute to do it until now! I also miscalculated the hours for the poll, so it's going to close an hour and 10 mins before the race starts on Sunday as apposed to a few minutes before.
Perhaps more in hope that anything else, I've gone for Nico to win this. He's been very clever this year and targeted the GP's that he can win, and minimise the damage were Lewis is untouchable. I just have a feeling that there might be another mechanical failure for Mercedes left in this championship, and I really hope not. I don't want the championship decided my a further mechanical failure.
I've gone for Nico but I wouldn't be against an engine failure for Nico to bring the points a little more into balance and make the final two races more than Rosberg needing to just bring it home 2nd.
He (Nico) went well here last year, think he'll do so again this year. He'll secure the WDC in Brazil.. Redbull to be best of the rest again..
I just hope it's not a Rosberg win and Hamilton retirement. The Internet is useful and I don't want to have to avoid it for a few weeks.
If either of them break down, just stay away from all social media, sports sections of news outlets and kinkylatexdonkeybuggery.com. I doubt you'll find any tinfoil hat stuff on the latter, but it's still worth avoiding.
Will be like brexit, US elections, and Spain 2016, Germany 2010, Bahrain 2014, Singapore 2008, Monaco 2006, US 2005, Austria 2002, Jerez 1997, Adelaide 1994 and Suzuka 1990 all in one.
After that, I'm hoping Hamilton gets a rubbish start and ploughs into Bottas at the first corner, with Rosberg sailing to an easy win. Otherwise we have to suffer all this stress 2 more times.
I have no idea... but i just fancy that the focus shown by hamilton last time out shows that when he really buckles down he's the better driver. This year rosberg stepped up no question but hamilton has also not been as hungry. I think Saturday hamilton will put the car on pole but sunday is all about the starts.
well, after P1 I can't see anyone challenging the Mercs in Mexico, fastest using the slowest tyre. P2 edit, ok, the Ferrari's look tasty too
I always feels if any of the 'rest' are within .5 of Mercedes pole time then they're in with a decent shout in the race, since their return they've always had a much better quali:race pace
Alonso still has it when it comes to digs. The Spaniard also downplayed his FP2 incident with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, after the German called him an "idiot" on the radio. "I saw it, but I'm not too bothered," said Alonso. "There must be a lot of frustration in him and at Ferrari. I forgive them."
Careless from Vettel there. That could damage what could be a good race for Ferrari. Probably won't hamper Hamilton so he may escape penalty.
There's a certain irony in Vettel getting involved in some blocking after his comments about Alonso. Hamilton pole, Mercedes 1-2. All fairly routine unfortunately. Hulkenburg the star of qualifying?
those times aren't as dominant as normal, if either gets a bad start they're going to struggle to regain places
