Wtf do these so called experts/pundits know? I recall many of them saying that it was a disgrace that Phelan hadn't been given a contract, they seem to be less vocal on the subject now that he has one.

****... I'm just sitting down to watch Man City v Saints... Southampton have only had 16 shots on target against them all season......!!!!!!

And Van Dyck just said Charlie Austin is the best finisher he has played with.. lets not go there <laugh>:1980_boogie_down:!!

    19 goals without fault?

I'd suggest that the defence have no confidence in the new keeper. I find it incredible you are using an under 12s example to try and make a point <laugh>

All junior teams concede a shed load of goals at some time or another, particularly poor ones!

These are professionals we are talking about. It's their job, it's also their job to ensure they operate in a professional capacity and to the best of their ability.

Or maybe they are supposed to jump unless the keeper shouts 'don't jump'?

Put De Gea/Neuer in goal and we'd have conceded maybe 2 fewer goals. It's not Marshall's fault that we're ****e.

Phelan is too close to the players - circumstances brought him form being SBs nice sidekick to a backs-against-the-wall-we-are-all-in-this-together type with support for him to be the next manager being publicly promulgated by senior players. The line that shall not be crossed was never there - foot soldiers shooting the breeze with the commander-in-chief makes for an effeminate battalion. When 23 senior players and one "manager" are of equal status, then there are 24 opinions on what should be done - we need a know-your-place-soldier type, someone who lets the squad know that there is a shape up or ship out policy, someone who can tacitly put the fear of God in them. Unfortunately MPs "long" association with the players has effectively negated this.

burnley have just as **** squad as we do

but dyche has them with that siege fight till the full whistle every game, they know they won't dominate any games, he has them believing and fighting to the strengths they do have

is phelan going to be our long term manager past this season? no. So should we be able to replace him, we should do so as soon as possible

what a bunch of Tiger Poodles - the majority of the team were brought in by Bruce - we played some real **** last season and finished a poor fourth in the end despite Brucies £40 million investment - some of the players weren't good enough last season such as Meyler, Diomande, Junior, Elmo and Maloney - why on earth does anyone expect them to be anywhere near good enough this season - we've hardly spent anything this season and all of it within the last 48 hours of the window, I think we did well to bring in any in the circumstances - the team needs proper investment - Brucie left us with no cover at right back or left back after he got rid of Macca and Rosie so he could keep his son who wasn't needed - of course it's not been great this season, why would it with key injuries to Odubajo and Dawson, and now Robertson and Mbokani, playing with ten men for two games and with those players banned for the next games - and yet we still have more points from the same games than we did last time we were in the Prem - the people to blame for this mess are the Allams who refuse to put anymore investment into the club and are letting it wither on the vine - blame them but the vitriol thrown at Phelan is totally uncalled for - we all want to see better football and better results but in reality we only have around half a dozen players who are good enough for the Prem

Well there's that and the fact they have been ****ing lucky in a lot of games this season too.

Maybe you make your own luck but they've certainly been enjoying some lately.

Phelan is ****. I just saw it earlier than others. You know there is only you and Patty who thinks Phelans marvelous dont you...

Huddlestone played ****, do you agree? Hudd has been dropped or subbed regularly by Phelan why?

    Meyler played ****, agreed.

Dont do aways. Season pass holder went yesterday.

I don't think he's marvellous, but no-one else wanted to come and he's better than the useless **** we used to have

    Meylers always been ****

I struggle to name any central midfielder that Bruce has brought in that is actually good enough - Livermore can't pass either, can't shoot and doesn't create much - Huddlestone can't tackle, can't shoot but at least can pass and is somewhat creative - the only plus I will give Meyler is that he can score if he gets in the box, its just the rest of the **** that makes him **** overall - however, both Huddlestone and Livermore are significantly better than Meyler - I appreciate Meyler would be your first name on the team sheet but I suspect you're in a minority of one cos you clearly don't have a ****ing clue

problem with huddlestone, livermore and mason is they are okay players who did okay at spurs surrounded by much better players

now they are around not so good players and they are not as good as people think they are

there's a reason they play for us
