It's not always about tactics and formations. They were just miles better than us today from the first 5 minutes. The club is a shambles and we have to accept that it's now affected the team. We can't expect to beat anyone with no players and no staff.
Plt I normally agree with a lot you write but I don't see how Stoke were miles better than us. Yes they were better and that was down to the fact we helped them be better and we were the city of old. Get to the halfway line, run out of ideas so we go sideways, backwards until we lose it.
2 poor teams today, 1 will have enough to stay up 1 Wil be in the championship next season

Yeah, it unfortunately appears that Mr. Phelan is a bit of an idiot. I will own up to the fact that I hoped he'd be better after the first three games, however, as others have mentioned, he appears to have completely ballsed up the team spirit and any initial fluidity that we had by insisting on dropping the likes of Jak for a keeper that certainly hasn't improved our fortunes, and Abel for a forward that couldn't even score in the Championship. As for the £13M spent on Mason, a) it looks like Levy has had our pants down again, and b) the money would have been wisely spent in other ares of the pitch were we were paper thin, not central midfield, it currently looks like Phelan is anything but wise!

It's funny, because before the season started I think I was the only one championing Phelan - I wanted Martinez most but preferred to give Phelan a go instead of the other names being thrown about. After 3 games I saw enough to think he wasn't up to it. What's gone on since... well. Lost for words.

I can't say I'm a massive advocate of Burnsey's and Swann's team selection ideas. But they questioned the line-up from the off and said it wouldn't work.
Phelan out to radio Humberside. Burnsey in as HCAFC Team Manager with Swann his number two.

Burnsey was annoyed with the team selection before kick-off and wasn't afraid to let MP know about it in the interview after the game, he said what we we're all thinking and didn't let MP off the hook, good work Burnsey!

What did Phelan say in reply?

Burnsey basically tried to get him to justify why he played Keane instead of Abel, MP pretty much said Abel doesn't like the lone striker role and isn't good at it so he tried someone else, Burnsey then asked why he kept Keane in after last week and MP said he thought he had a good game.

Burnsey basically told him it wasn't working and perhaps ditch the lone striker tactics.

I cannot for the life of me see what Phelan has seen in Keane to warrant him starting the game v Stoke? Anyone else? Because I am genuinely baffled, it's not the kids fault we signed him, or the fact we are even playing him. But honestly, he is ****e.

Phelan maybe carnt see anything in Keane, he just wants to feel part of it. That's obviously enough to warrant a run in the team.

What do you make of tymon? I heard phelan in the week say he'd have to have a think if he can make the step up. Obviously he decided he couldn't but he still put him on the bench, why???? What if clucas gets injured after 2 mins, is tymon then ok to come on? He should have had Henrickson on the bench instead at least he's an attacking player

To be fair to him today he was asked to do the impossible, playing on his own against two massive centre backs, feeding off scraps and with no support, I don't know how good the kid is (his goal scoring record isn't great) but even the best strikers would have struggled to play the role he was asked to today.

If he has doubts about Tymon making the step up I wonder where he gets his faith in Keane who's only scored 3 in 50 and none in the PL.

That's always the same when we play one upfront, the striker is expected to feed off scraps and our midfield Is to slow to support him. It's a ridiculous system for us to play and I carnt believe people at the club carnt see that, our best striker is on the bench because we play a system he carnt

Sign up Burnsey as manager for next game. Apparently he has to tell MP the obvious.

Henriksen was injured, that's why Tymon was on the bench.

Tymon should have started. Moving Clucas (even though he was my MOTM) affected two positions - CM and LB. playing Tymon would only have affected LB.

To give Tymon confidence we should have played 3 at the back (extra centre half), two up front and 3 in the middle with Elmo and Tymon wing backs.

no, silly ****... do you want me to show you how to ignore me?
I dont think that you quite have the hang of this NOT606 website yet, do you?

I don't need a ****ing imbecile like you to tell me how to put you on ignore. I know perfectly well thank you.
Unfortunately, I have this morbid fascination to read what absolute bollocks and drivel you are going to post next.:emoticon-0116-evilg

The thing that was jaw dropping for me was, MP post match (Think its already been mentioned on here) interview with Burnsy, he came across as a beaten man, totally in shock, no idea what to do next, infact by the end of the interview it sounded like Burnsy was the manager, telling MP were he'd gone wrong ,I often wondered why MP has been an assistance manager/ coach for 20years and never number one, and on yesterdays team selection and performance its easy to see why, sorry to say he looks like a Brian Kidd mark2.

I actually think the Jak being dropped has done more than anything else tbh .. he needs to be back in ASAP

Said to my mate when the first goal went in "The worst past is we'll have to read about how Jak would definitely have saved it on Not606". I wasn't wrong.
