We usually do ****e against the poorer sides & pull off some big wins as the season go's on.
That said, this is the worst start we've had in a good few years.

I am all for giving a manager time but we have not won a single game in the league. SAFC must be thinking about getting Sam back. I know it's not all Moyes fault as our injury list is ridiculous but you get judged on results.

I know we are pants but I think it would be incredibly difficult to judge Moyes too harshly at the moment considering the fiasco he has walked into and the injuries he has had to endure. We have to face facts that we are not good enough and unless we have a shocking season of record breaking proportions then I think we should just keep him. Give him a chance in the championship, put his own stamp on things and try and get us back up. Even the worlds finest managers couldnt polish this turd!
Can't remember the last time we stayed up on the last day - we're normally safe before then as we were the last few seasons securing survival with wins against Everton and Chelsea last and a draw at Arsenal the one before. We drew with Watford last season and stayed up as we had more points than the bottom three.
I'm not saying I disagree with you btw - but a league table is only any use when things are definite (i.e. if a team cannot catch 17th place or at the end of the season). This season has started exactly like any other only with much more summer disruption. I am trying to grasp what little I can to be positive (but, FWIW, even I, the eternal optimist, think we'll go down this season)
I really, really don't like Moyes but your fans need to stay off his back, no manager on this planet would have you guys rocking with that squad given the injuries. There's probably no chance that the guy is getting sacked, what would it achieve other than creating another £8-10m hole in your balance sheet?

Only bit I can't agree with on you there is the first bit - I think you've understated how much you dislike Moyes!
To be honest mate, I don't hate the bloke because he done what he thought was right. He didn't set out to sabotage the club, although it couldn't have gone much worse if he did. He doesn't learn though, he seems to have a mental block when it comes to learning, maybe he's stubborn or incredibly stupid.
Poisoned chalice he got at your place. He shouldn't have sacked the backroom staff - that was his biggest problem at Man Utd IMO. That put players and fans backs up straight away.
He went from an above average mid-table team which he did fantastically well with to a top of the league team - had he come to SAFC when he left Everton, chances are we'd have been in good stead. He went to your lot and did as far from succeeding as you really can at United, then went to Sociedad where you only get 4 months if you don't succeed, now he's here and fighting fire. I don't mind him as a gaffer - like you said, put Mourinho, Guardiola etc in charge of our side with the injuries - how would they do?
He certainly did not get a poisoned chalice, his only disadvantage was the new Chief Exec, Woodward, who is a complete div.
It was no lose for Moyes and he still went out looking like a loser.
Disagree mate - anyone following Sir Alex, the most successful manager at any level anywhere in any form of the game, was getting a poisoned chalice. He came in to a difficult job (he didn't make it any easier for himself but I do think the management role after fergie was always going to be one of the most difficult). Just an opinion though
Why is that a poisoned chalice? Does that not make his job easier if everybody knew this pearl of wisdom? Nobody could have matched Fergie, that's true, but they didn't have to.
The words on everybody's lips were that he inherited an aging side, which is true, an aging side that had just won the league title.
Rio sums up everything in his autobiography. Moyes spent hours drilling the league champions on how to beat teams like Stoke, Newcastle... he brought a small club mentality to Old Trafford, he had no idea what he was getting himself into and he drowned, all by himself.
The way I see it, Fergie's recommendation that Moyes succeeded him was based on sentimentality. In addition to their obviously similar roots, they'd both had relative levels of success at smaller clubs. In one of Fergie's rare misjudgments he forgot that football, in part due to him, had moved on since he was appointed Man Utd manager. Moyes reminded him of himself but wasn't the big name or the big character that was required.
If that's how you see it then fair enough pal, everybody will have their own assumptions on what happened.
The bottom line is the guy has no experience of winning, any recommendation that may have come from Fergie was a mistake in hindsight, Fergie even said the bloke had no idea how big the job was, he shrunk and shrunk, week by week, each bad result a 'hammer blow' to his confidence, he never dealt with the immense pressure, he's a weak man.
I agree with you on all counts there. Fergie's come out and said it was a mistake, hasn't he? I definitely think Moyes is weak- I think his 'relegation fight' comments were getting his excuses in early. I think he's ok on the tactical side of things but he clearly doesn't cope well with pressure.
I said that tongue in cheek Marcus but I know whose fans are happier at the moment between us and the mags sometimes you need to just enjoy football and not pretend you are happy when you get slaughtered every week but you are in the " Premiership ".
It's like having a worldy wife but she doesn't let you pork her. All you do is pick the kids up from school and pay her credit card bill but never get a ride.

Man Utd are a super power in the world of football and finance. Moyes no disrespect to him just does not have that ability to handle a club of that size. In my opinion very few do. Probably at best maybe less than half a dozen in the world. However, he certainly needs to earn his corn to make Sunderland tick. At the moment he is struggling but in fairness to him it's not all his fault. See if he can do a Sam and pull a rabbit out the hat in January...if he survives that long.
