A bit disappointing today to say the least but still at this time of the season deja vu right? Looking at today and taking a deep breath I'm just wondering how it is panned out over the last few months whether as a club Short has decided to bite the bullet and take the drop into the Championship. Clearly he seesnow a better future with the kids such as Pickford,Asoro, Gooch etc but know short term that these lads will not be good enough to keep us up. Short doesn't want to invest......well only in kids....where longer term they maybe more profit for him. I think all be revealed in January....no spend then we have another Randy Lerner here. Somehow from somewhere we have to keep within 4 to 5 points of the teams above us but at the moment that seems a big ask. Today was the same old...same old. No passion, no in your face stuff. At least let's go.down with a fight. We the fans at the moment are getting screwed again. If we follow similar patterns of previous seasons then the panic button will be pressed. A new manager in.....I have seen comments for Big Sam's return. Like all other seasons the reason behind this is our survival....just don't see it this happening. Moyes on four year contract and Short saying he had tried to get him 5 times before so Short has made his bed now. Here's a few thoughts on today: Pickford again outstanding....defense totally let this lad down time, time and time again. Manquillo....to me just not up to the standard we need. I would have gone with Yedlin. PVA will never make a defender as long as I have a hole in my ass. Let Allen run in for their first. O'Shea coming to the end of his career and struggling to put his finger in the dam to stop the flood. Still best option at the moment though. Papy better today but that doesn't say a lot. At times frightening defensively. Rodwell....was he playing? N'Dong has to learn these are the bread and utter games of the EPL. Can't go missing.....more so when playing next to Rodwell. Khazri....the lad has class. Mon of match for me. Watmore...concerned about the lad to be honest. Someone needs to work on getting his head up to get more vision in his game. The head down and bolt for the gate is to easy to defend at this level. McNair...not good enough at this level yet especially in midfield Defoe...bit of an off day so when that happens who else steps up to the plate? If we do survive this season I'm thinking this could be the biggest miracle out of the last five we have produced....
Really? You can't think of a better feeling in football than beating us? In a way I applaud you, you've aimed so low your dreams are very achievable.
Not that anyone would have bitten anyway despite us being the easiest target imaginable but that triple post made sure of it.
Stoke are a decent team with a good manager to be fair. I still don't think you'll go down as you always seem to find some sort of form eventually. That being I wouldn't be surprised if we swapped leagues.
I can see two just as bad, Stoke and Burnley, two marginally better Boro and Swansea, and there is always a wild card, these glimmers of hope, make it just possible we will escape again, but another season of anguish awaits, this is the worst to take so far, because of the curse of the Euro's, and Big Sams antics, you just could not make it up. I notice Eddie Howe does not seem as daft as BS, but it is possible that Bournemouth might be the next to suffer the call to arms.
Expecting us to bite over something we`ve been expecting for the last 5 years is the logic of a true simpleton.
Don't get me wrong, I think you have a woeful side however there are a few crap sides about. You should pull yourself above the parapet. You've got the experience of battling down there which will work to your advantage.
