If you read Fergie's autobiography, he states that he was all ready to give his notice to retire, then on the morning he went to deliver the news to the board he found out David Gill was resigning, the guy who made massive strides at this club, the unsung hero of our financial power. Fergie knew then that the task ahead was massive, replacing the chief exec and the manager, but he still went ahead and gave his intentions to leave. It didn't help Moyes that the club had a new CEO, the timing could not have been any worse, but the time was then or never for Moyes.
no bother - I am not saying I'd rather be getting beaten week in week out - the Championship holds very happy memories for us - but I want to be in the premier league - don;t think we will be next season but hey ho - nowt I can do to change that - it's them on the pitch that need to do something (and them in the hospital getting treatment) I do think we'll be relegated. It's absolutely gutting as well as, at the end of last season, I can't remember anticipation ever being as high for the new season than it was then. Then the FA had their **** about with us and took ages making their decision and put the club back to where we've been almost every other time in the last 5 seasons. Knowing from the start we are in a fire-fight!
Standing from the sidelines watching the goings on at Man Utd I could never understand why Gill and Sir Fergie left at the same time. I'm surprised that the Glaziers let that happen as it was going to leave a massive void. I don't know much about Woodward but from what I have seen maybe he has the ear of the Glaziers. Hopefully Mourinho is just left to get on with the job. I think within two years United will be back at the top again winning the league.
