This has been tough to watch. Great quality golf though. Going to take something special tomorrow, US played well and some of ours didn't perform

He's been a bit hopeless sadly. Always felt like a nostalgic choice over a sensible one this year.

The only one I feel a little for is Wood V Johnson. That's a tough one for t he Rookie. The rest all look very good, although if Europe turn it around and the last matches become key, then Zach against Matt will be a tough ask for the youngster in the last match.

Disappointing competition for two of Clarke's wild cards (Westwood and Kaymer) especially Westy, who only needed two points to match Nick Faldo's total of 25.
Hopefully we can get some early points on the board, and see how it affects things.

Yes, Westy has struggled. He missed four or five 3-6' putts in he last 6 or 7 holes yesterday.

Unfortunately it resembled his Major performances rather than a Ryder Cup performance. I think Poulter or Donald would have eaten those putts for breakfast.

Isn't the general feeling that the main/only reason Westwood is in the team is because he is Clarke's best mate? I thought there were a few who should have been picked ahead of him

    Yep.

Casey etc. I'd actually have loved to see Beef in a Ryder Cup setting. Think it would suit him down to the ground.

Beef may have jeopardised his good relationship with the US if he'd turned up and stuffed them though!

I think we've got a good chance to put 3 points on the board in the first 5 to make them think, it's just the rest of the line up that makes me wonder if we can get to 14 quickly enough.
