Used to like Shakespeare records under Paragon Station, they used to provide the records played at Boothferry Park
Also Discount Menswear which is now entrance to Princes Quay - got a red harrington jacket from there

Changes was great whilst at Kings Market, never the same when it moved down Saville St.

True .

I also used to like the Army surplus shop in Kings Market for old Levi's.

Last , but no means least, the shop in the same market that sold "Arrow" jeans.........legendary

Reactions: Kempton
Cravens muso shop, almost under the railway bridge on Craven Street/Holderness Rd. corner; they had another shop next to Sellit & Soon on Holderness Road, near Dansom Lane.

Run by Mike Oliver, if I'm remembering right?

Great memories and thread, East Hull, Regis Record Shop, Hold'ness Road, spent many hours in there in the listening booths, listening to the new singles and LPs. Happy days.

If I recall correctly the computer shop was called 'Tomorrows World' - got my ZX Spectrum from there. The 16K version not the posh 48K version lol!
Tomorrows world was the larger one under city hall , it was the store that had 2 halves ... Once side was the posh n expensive IBMs , Mackintosh and boring language books ... The other side had the home computers and games, the store never quite got onto the booming gamer side of things , it was always a bit boring .

Much preferred the other place , I'm still sure it was called computer store/shop .. It had all the games n joysticks n realistly available peripherals haha WHsmiths was probably the next best place in the early 80s for home computing

Is this the corner you mean? Opposite Cecil and Europa House?

One of my greatest social faux pas'.

Ordering Scallops in a restaurant then complaining that they were a bit fishy.

You can take the lad out of 'Ull...

Once in France with the wife and kids when my missus asked for Steak Tatare...........well done. The waiter looked to the heavens and replied "Madame it is raw"
in the voice of the Gendarme in Allo Allo.

virgin rags was a pretty hip place, circa 73/74. i think it was in the prospect centre backing on to debenhams.
even went out with the manageress, for a week i think, happy times. why does life have to become so serious?

Another France story, in a restaurant, a French group were drinking out of large goblets, some Americans nearby had normal wine glasses. On asking if they could have goblets too the waiter examined their wine bottle and said 'No, I do not think so'...
