Ellis Short is probably fist pumping all the way to work this morning, when he realises how reduced our wage bill is.
Don`t blame him mate tbh. Paying top coin for crap. It`s been a millstone for years.
Can`t use it as an excuse now though.

Don't think he has got a release clause in his current contractAdam Johnson
Mika?Personally only Giacc was worth keeping even Kaboul though great when on the pitch was injured more than he played and to be fair in Pappy and Denayer he has been replaced by younger and I hope better options.
If we had signed Mvila this window I would now be happy, I know we probably do need a striker, all I can think is that Moyes has a lot of faith in Asoro to be the man to come off the bench and make an impact, or be the replacement to Defoe if he gets injured. In some ways its good because its better to give one of our own a chance than develop someone else's player. IF Borini was not injured than fair enough but I still think we need someone in that position.
Our biggest enemy now is injuries, we have bloody loads of them, Our first 11 looks extremely strong, our next 11 looks extremely weak. Here is an example:
(I have taken out Larson and Borini because they are injured until the next window).
FIRST 11
.......................Pickford.......................
Man.......Kone.........Pappy..........PVA
...........N'Dong...Hoff...Catts.............
Khazri..............Defoe............Januzaj
2nd 11
........................Mika...........................
Love.......JOS.........Denayer.....Jones
...........Rodwell..Gooch..McNair.......
Watmore.........Asoro............Pienar
There are some square pegs in round holes in that 2nd 11.
If (and I realise its a big if) his 'family reasons' are genuine then he goes with my blessing and giving him **** when he returns is completely unwarranted. An injury prone 30 year old centre half who asked to leave though for £3.5m (Rising to £4m if I'm remembering correctly) isn't bad business financially. Kaboul is a twat basically and I'll be giving him a hell of a lot of **** when he returns!
As for Giaccherini - as my ex used to call me - **** nose
Not getting a centre forward in is absolutely scandalous. We have had all transfer window. And after Borini's injury I'd have thought it would be a priority. A lot bigger priority than M'Vila. Can N'dong fill M'Vila's space until January? Or is he a different type of midfielder. Anyone know?
His least injury hit season in his career last season but he still only played 22 games! Bit like Kirchhoff I suppose as we had him playing more games than he ever has but now he's crocked again. Suppose we'll never really know but I wouldn't be upset or surprised to see Kaboul get injured. Homesick my arse - he hasn;t gone home, he's gone to ****ing London!I would have to argue that one, mate.
He was in the form of his career and he wasn't missing games either, we had him fit and sharp. He's went straight into the Watford team. In todays inflated market we should have been looking at the 10m mark, for Kaboul. His partnership with Kone, should have made us hold out for a bigger fee.
Bullshit! Would he have been homesick or had those family issues if we'd offered him £150k a week? I very much doubt it. He deserves all the **** he'll get from me. Will get no support and I hope the **** gets injured. If (and I realise its a big if) his 'family reasons' are genuine then he goes with my blessing and giving him **** when he returns is completely unwarranted.
On the other hand, if Cattermole, a player whose greatest attribute is that he shouts a lot, is worth £20m, how can selling Kaboul, a French international and a key part of our defence, for £4m represent good business?
Isn't Cattermole the same though? We get about 20 - 25 games a season out of him, and you have him down as a 20m player. His least injury hit season in his career last season but he still only played 22 games! Bit like Kirchhoff I suppose as we had him playing more games than he ever has but now he's crocked again. I don't know how reliable the source was but someone on here suggested that it was due to marital reasons. Whether it was this or because his child is ill, I can empathise. You're right, if he just wanted to move to London (Watford isn't in London by the way) then he was disrespectful but I doubt it was solely that.Bullshit! Would he have been homesick or had those family issues if we'd offered him £150k a week? I very much doubt it. He deserves all the **** he'll get from me. Will get no support and I hope the **** gets injured.
As for your "CAttermole's greatest attribute" comment. Guess you don't watch him play much then!
has nee one learnt yet, divnt mention Catts when Marcus is about. He will argue this one till his last breath. Can someone do a new thread explaining whats gone on. Please.
I think if im correct.

No M.Vila. No striker. No gk.
Kone stays.
Is that about right?
****ing hell..Loads of our players with perms I see..I thought they went out of fashion in the 1970's..
No they'll sue him, fine him, or possibly suspend him on no pay. He'll lose the best part of £2m and possibly some bonuses that are due.
I don't think you've thought this through.
Though shall not speak ill off Lesley Cattermole. Marcus: 12:45
All referees are colluding to stop him winning the quadruple and the world cup on his own.
Mika?
I would play Pienaar before Cattermole, mate.
Actually, this is a lot more complicated, but how much of that complication surfaces depends (of course) on how much M'Villa and Ruban Kazan want to push it.
Remember the Bosman case? One of the main legal rights at the base of that judgement is the right of EU individuals to work; that includes not just the immediate right but also relates to actions that impair future work capabilities and opportunities.
So let's take a possible circumstance. RK tell JM-V that he is under contract and may not interact with SAFC (or any other football club). JM-V than asks to train with the full squad and be considered for team selection. RK say no, we don't want you in the main squad. J-MV then asks how he can train, but as he isn't playing he probably can't get a visa. RK say just sit down and we keep paying. At this point RK hold the contract and player registration but are acting in a way that adversely affects JM-V's right to work now and, due to lack of fitness and playing opportunity, damage his future career and earnings.
So IF JM-V wanted to risk the remaining payments he is due, he could challenge the contract (ask for it to be terminated) and
Unless RK can argue that JM-V has broken his contract before this in some way, then they may find it hard to impose "unreasonable" limitations on JM-V's actions. And of course it also depends on legal opinions about the transfer fee demanded i.e. is that also unreasonable.
- demand that UEFA end his registration with RK. He could of course still sue RK for the contract value.
- OR leave the contract but ask UEFA for permission to train with a team to maintain his right to work etc.
There are a lot of other possible circumstances that we don't know about, but the situation is not clear cut based only on the existing contract and player registration.
My head hurts. Is it absolutely definite that M'Vila has signed a pre contract with us?
