An injury prone 30 year old centre half who asked to leave though for £3.5m (Rising to £4m if I'm remembering correctly) isn't bad business financially. Kaboul is a twat basically and I'll be giving him a hell of a lot of **** when he returns! As for Giaccherini - as my ex used to call me - **** nose
I would have to argue that one, mate. He was in the form of his career and he wasn't missing games either, we had him fit and sharp. He's went straight into the Watford team. In todays inflated market we should have been looking at the 10m mark, for Kaboul. His partnership with Kone, should have made us hold out for a bigger fee.
Throw in an Adam Johnson for 10 million, as well, who's spunk unfortunately did not go down the drain.
Ridiculous waste of funds. Ended up out on loan so weren`t even here and contributed very little when they were. We`ve shifted a hell of a lot of ****e though. Obviously it`s left numbers short but I suppose the reason is instead of paying them to add nowt they may as well be gone. No idea about Mr Dong but I doubt Moyes would have broken the record fee without doing some serious homework. Not sure about buying for the future when we need players for the now or whether Love & McNair are any better than what we have in the u23`s already. Other than that, those brought in do look to be improvements.
Ellis Short is probably fist pumping all the way to work this morning, when he realises how reduced our wage bill is.
Personally only Giacc was worth keeping even Kaboul though great when on the pitch was injured more than he played and to be fair in Pappy and Denayer he has been replaced by younger and I hope better options. If we had signed Mvila this window I would now be happy, I know we probably do need a striker, all I can think is that Moyes has a lot of faith in Asoro to be the man to come off the bench and make an impact, or be the replacement to Defoe if he gets injured. In some ways its good because its better to give one of our own a chance than develop someone else's player. IF Borini was not injured than fair enough but I still think we need someone in that position. Our biggest enemy now is injuries, we have bloody loads of them, Our first 11 looks extremely strong, our next 11 looks extremely weak. Here is an example: (I have taken out Larson and Borini because they are injured until the next window). FIRST 11 .......................Pickford....................... Man.......Kone.........Pappy..........PVA ...........N'Dong...Hoff...Catts............. Khazri..............Defoe............Januzaj 2nd 11 ........................Mika........................... Love.......JOS.........Denayer.....Jones ...........Rodwell..Gooch..McNair....... Watmore.........Asoro............Pienar There are some square pegs in round holes in that 2nd 11.
Broke our transfer record for Dong. So Dave must see something really good. Bet Ellis was crying when he heard that knock on the door and Dave was standing there cap in hand.
