Honestly can't say if there was much or any improvement as I only saw about 5 matches on telly all season. I suppose you are implying there was, so I'll take your word for it. The games I did see were somewhat dire to say the least. The playoff final was an impressive performance granted, as was the 1st leg of the semi. 2nd leg was woeful. Phelan may be worth giving a chance to prove himself.Phelan is a very clever man and he will have helped Bruce make his plans. If he is given a chance he will do well providing he gets some players.
There was a reason he sat next to Fergie on the United bench, Fergie was never a great tactician and left that mostly to his No2.
Phelan also gave very honest and open interviews when Fergie declined to.
Did you notice any improvement in performance/results when Phelan joined Bruce or did nothing change?
Still think potential new owners would be wise consulting both Bruce & Phelan if there is any chance we can sign anyone before the summer cut-off, but that would mean some agreement between the sellers and the bidders. The squad as it stands at the moment will be irretrievably adrift by Christmas.
