No, it doesn't, but the value of the club isn't wholly based on the current playing staff. The Chinese are obviously aware of the situation surrounding our squad, they want the club they are buying to have a fighting chance of surviving and will probably accept any players coming in. Even if they did feel like the new players aren't to their liking, they'd just buy other ones in January and get rid of the ones they don't want. But such decisions are usually left to the management, I'd be very surprised if the Chinese buyers had much knowledge of many of the players we are looking at, we don't even know who they are.

Completely agree, players are a small cog in the sale and given our lack of bodies the new owners will be happy to see their future investment strengthened cheaply.

I expect we will see 2-3 free transfers on initial one year contract with option of extention with games played
a couple of cheap championship/overseas players (from the Diame money)
Plus a few on loan.

Unless new owners are confident of getting deal done in next 10 days

Anyone think Jelovic would be a good partner for Hernandez or has he lost his edge in China? Only asking due to the takeover rumour that possible new owners also own Jelovic's current team.
No way,
I haven't the slightest idea, but I know who it isn't...

Aston Villa have seen off competition from Middlesbrough to sign James Chester from West Brom for an initial £7m.

There some dosh in the championship this season, did I heard right today that wolves have a bid of £20 million bid in for a overseas player.

Cant believe we arnt in for Chester.. would be the perfect signing,, knows the club, the way we play, everything... he'd just slot straight back in next to Davies.

No, he's nowhere near as good. He couldn't even break into Wednesday's first team last season. Even in the state we are in, we can do better than that.
More fool them. Saw them twice last season. MT dominated Abel and they drew with us. Play off final. CB makes the mistake that gives us the game.
I'd take him.

If they are genuinely serious about buying and keeping us up this season, If they're smart, they may have contacted Bruce to find out what his plans for signings/needs were going to be had he stayed. Consultation by Bruce for a fee, or a promise to be rehired (1 year contract with options) should the sale go through. Phelan may well be involved too ?

Phelan is a very clever man and he will have helped Bruce make his plans. If he is given a chance he will do well providing he gets some players.

There was a reason he sat next to Fergie on the United bench, Fergie was never a great tactician and left that mostly to his No2.
Phelan also gave very honest and open interviews when Fergie declined to.
Did you notice any improvement in performance/results when Phelan joined Bruce or did nothing change?

I really don't think Bruce would come back, it isn't worth considering.
