Honestly can't say if there was much or any improvement as I only saw about 5 matches on telly all season. I suppose you are implying there was, so I'll take your word for it. The games I did see were somewhat dire to say the least. The playoff final was an impressive performance granted, as was the 1st leg of the semi. 2nd leg was woeful. Phelan may be worth giving a chance to prove himself. Still think potential new owners would be wise consulting both Bruce & Phelan if there is any chance we can sign anyone before the summer cut-off, but that would mean some agreement between the sellers and the bidders. The squad as it stands at the moment will be irretrievably adrift by Christmas.
With new owners he might. Nothing else on the horizon as far as I can tell. If he doesn't get back in soon, he will be yesterday's man, & I believe he's not ready to retire just yet.
Just want to add, I did watch most of City's games (delayed) on TigersPlayer, and must say I was disappointed in most performances by City over the season. They didn't reach their potential (on paper) in my opinion, tactically especially, and "energy-wise". Impossible to tell whether Phelan had any significant impact as the same old, same old Bruce style dominated: Get a lead, try to hold onto it: slow build-up in the middle third, lack of decisiveness in the final third. defensively they were excellent however most of the time.
Pray tell, what was the context, meaning, innuendo, implications, and vagaries of your post? You stated that Bruce would want to get into a job soon or he'll be yesterday's news and he doesn't want to retire. I pointed out a manager who was out of work for 12 months and walked into a pretty coveted job.
I have. I have no idea what you're on about this time. Bruce will not be our manager again, new owners or not. That will not bother him as he will have plenty of opportunities both in the PL and Championship, even if he doesn't work again this season. He will not be forgotten about.
I believe Bruce was offered a new job as soon as he left us, but turned it down, mainly because his wife wanted him to take some time out. I don't think he'll come back to us, whoever the owner is, it's time to move on. As for Phelan, I don't think he had any impact when he came in, but it's hard to know how much influence he actually had.
Had a dream last night that the ownership change had gone through and we beat Leicester 4 0 with a hat trick from a resigned jelavic and one from kovacic, would like to hope it was a premonition but with time running out reckon it could have just been a dream sadly.
Swiss reporter for Football Manager... Mr. RiOli @aulit_z @BaselTiger it seems like Moussa Konaté is on his way to Hull.
There has been a change in the way the team has played and warmed up in preseason. There has been more emphasise in the warm up on pass on move, and this does seem to be also finding is way into their general play. It will be interesting to see what happens when the games start.
That would seem to be the case, though with the players he's got available, he's very limited in what he can do.
Very true, a lot will depend on injuries, apart from the centre half position being a problem, the eleven on the field should be able to at least give Lesta a game. P.S. RH just reported that they understand the Kenya sponsors have been told that a take over is close to being finalised. Let's hope this can trigger some signings.
As it appears very unlikely that we we will be completing signings before 12oclock, it looks like we will be throwing a few of the youngsters into the deep end. I just hope the city fans dont get on the back of the youngsters if they make any mistakes. I for one will be applauding each one regardless of how they perform tomorrow.
