It's a tough one.

I went arse over tit after going too hot into a corner on Willerby Low Road and went through a fence and into a nettle patch, my own fault.

These riders are pro's and will have done recon on the course or their team officials will have and seen the gullies by the road sides.

But I think that some cautionary signs were required by the riders and the organisers, even in hindsight after the men's race.
I noticed the netting on the corner where Ritchie Porte went off was still in the same state as he left it yesterday.

If an ace descender like Nibali comes away with 2 broken collar bones, then i think the course was probably a bit more technical than necessary.

Compelling viewing though, both races.
Risk and reward FLG... the girl knew she had broken the race... its one of those where you push as hard as you can but you can only dab your brakes...remembering it (only seen it once) I think she might actually have squeezed her brakes causing the back wheel to lock - it was like a jackknife action...

True, shame of it is that she really didn't need to fly down,

I was coming down a hairpin section of the French Alps in a van one winter and touched the brakes instead of using the gears.

Triple Salchow into and partly through a corner Armco barrier with a 1000ft drop below - think Italian Job.

Great times.

I just think the descent was far too quick and the road far too narrow. Boardman was scathing of the the course designers as he said those descent sections were not acceptable.

Decent viewing so far though agreed.

Female Chinese synchronised diver by the name of Shi Tingmao - This has made my day.
Sick bastard

Good job you are a fully paid up member of the Self Preservation Society.:emoticon-0148-yes:

The Dutch female cyclist that crashed yesterday has three fractures to her spine.

I wish her a full and speedy recovery but that's got to be a career ending injury as a pro cyclist.
