Mahrez to Arsenal rumours resurfacing
http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/23/leice...ad-mahrez-agrees-to-sign-for-arsenal-6023907/

Ranieri dismissed speculation linking Mahrez with a move away from the King Power Stadium last week, saying: ‘It is over, the market is closed here. Mahrez wants to stay.’

However, reports in the French edition of Eurosport claim that Ranieri’s comments were merely a ploy to pressurise the 25-year-old Algerian into signing a new contract having heard of Arsenal’s interest.

The same report claims that Mahrez’s mind remains unchanged and, when Arsenal submit their official bid of £41million, he will leave the Premier League champions to join the north London club.

Would be nice but not really what we truly need....

A striker and defender (yes I know we signed a cb).

Also he is very much like Sanchez in the sense he likes to have the ball at his feet.

Come on wenger get us a nr 9!

Actually we do need a winger on the right. Walcott was never a winger and Mahrez would provide us with greater penetration, creativity and goal threat.

Its so ****ing depressing and predictable that we are still having these conversations when there are so many good strikers on the market (and good wingers/rwfs as well tbf) and all our rivals are strenghening!

Reported that Adidas are selling a no.7 Chelsea shirt with the name Mahrez on it from their website.
Bullshit or another cat out of the bag ?

Seeing as I work for Adidas, I can confirm that that is pure bullshit :)
I am on first name terms with our websites content manager too.

Been a few papers linking us to Martial. Who is 'apparently' unhappy with the way he has been forced to change his number with the arrival of Ibra.

Seems unlikely United would let him go but I would happily have him at Arsenal. Just the kind of player Wenger gets the best out of.

It would seem ridiculous if this transfer happened (though a lot of ridiculous stuff has happened in the last few seasons!), Martial was their best attacker last season, they spent huge amounts on a youngster like him not 12 months ago and are hardly likely to want to replace him with a 35 year old whose good for 2 seasons tops.

It seems a bit implausible for him to want to leave just because he's lost the no.9 shirt as well.

Still if this is going to happen then I'd happily take him.

There is just no way on earth that Mourinho will let a player go to Arsenal unless he's a crock. This 'story' is just another example of how the press will take any tiny slice and twist it for all it's worth. I hate this time of the year, especially waiting for any (if any) action from Arsenal transfer-wise and the incessant, inane boolocks in the press. Depressing.

We won't sign a striker that is better than Giroud, or a BFG replacement CB in the transfer window. That's factual.

everything you will read in the press is fiction!

Soo Ranieri's latest comments have confirmed Arsenal are in fact chasing Mahrez.

On one hand I think he's a good player who would improve our side but on the other hand its kinda infuriating.
Almost all the fans/press realise Arsenal needed to strengthen our CB and Striker positions first and foremost.

We have added another midfielder and it looks like we are now chasing a AMF/WF.
Wenger seems to be incapable of spending money in any other position. It's becoming a ****ing joke.

Cech had won everything there was to win at Chelsea, had given them years of loyal service and was also no longer the #1 goalkeeper any longer. The situation with Martial is not even remotely comparable and anyone who thinks Martial will come to us is living on a different planet.

Also it probably wasn't mourinho who sold cech. It was evident that Jose wasn't happy about selling Arsenal Cech. He would have preferred him abroad. (just what i think) Cech who had been a stalwart at Chelsea for 10 years was obviously chummy with Roman and Roman rewarded his good loyalty by letting him go to Arsenal.

In no way is this situation the same at United as Jose did Romans bidding whereas not Woodward is obviously going to be Joses bitch

Arsenal team next Season. After we sign yet another attacking midfielder (Mahrez)<doh>

----------------------Cech----------------------
------Wilshere--Koscielny--Coquelin----
Mahrez-Xhaka-Ramsey-Iwobi-Sanchez
-----------------------Ozil------------------------
---------------------Giroud----------------------

Gonna pass the **** out of everyone but will probably score less than Sunderland.
