And if the house sellers don't have the money to drill for the oil, well (see what I did there?) they may just have to compromise. (Oh that word again, that it appears some house sellers don't have in their vocabulary).

Well if the back garden is at Holmpton or Withernwick, you might want to try and sell fairly quickly. Here today gone tomorrow, bit like buying a Premier League football club with the season about to start.

The moment the ref blew the full time whistle at Wembley the price of the club was only going one way.

Twice a deal was agreed, twice the Allams moved the goalposts, they're a pair of ****s.

As far as I'm concerned, all bets are off, there should be a massive protest at the season opener, at their offices, at their homes, it's time to drive them away.

Vive le revolution.
Won't happen, but a complete boycott of the opening game would be perfect. Good for local pub trade too!

Good luck to the Yanks, I hope they find a decent club somewhere with decent owners willing to sell.

The Allams are not stupid people, they are a lot of other things, but not stupid.

They will know that until the deal is signed they are burdened with the club, therefore it will be in their best interest to make it as attractive as possible for September. They will know the yanks could easily say "the team isnt strong, your bottom of the league, and experts say your relegated, we out".

by the sounds of it the actual cost of the club has been agreed but the practicality of sale is the issue. I would not be suprised if there is a member if the potential buyers team sitting in on future meetings regarding nee players to rubber stamp the deal.

the yanks will have had a budget and team ready to manage transfers, there is nothing to say they cant be involved pre sale

They're very ****ing stupid & ****s.

There is no such thing as promise in negotiations, until it's legally a promise.

It must be annoying to have the goalposts moved, but unfair to accuse them of breaking a promise.

Let's just hope the Americans have the stomach to keep going.

Sounds like they don't.

at the end of the day the Americans are businessmen looking at a business opportunity - there are many places to invest your money - if the Allams are making it difficult and making the business opportunity look, either too difficult, too many conditions, too expensive then of course they will walk away - the Allams should be grateful they have a buyer, sounds like they've pissed them off with their business acumen -they probably think their experience in dealing with third world buyers for small generating sets holds them in good stead for dealing with real professionals
