The Allams are not stupid people, they are a lot of other things, but not stupid. They will know that until the deal is signed they are burdened with the club, therefore it will be in their best interest to make it as attractive as possible for September. They will know the yanks could easily say "the team isnt strong, your bottom of the league, and experts say your relegated, we out". by the sounds of it the actual cost of the club has been agreed but the practicality of sale is the issue. I would not be suprised if there is a member if the potential buyers team sitting in on future meetings regarding nee players to rubber stamp the deal. the yanks will have had a budget and team ready to manage transfers, there is nothing to say they cant be involved pre sale
exactly/agree - every seller has a minimum and every buyer has a maximum, its just trying to find the point where the deal can be concluded - unfortunately our two friends are not very good at negotiating etiquette as they keep reneging on things which is never a good starting point
sorry Bud, but any price 'agreed' is always subject to change until a contract is signed - sometimes the price is the last thing to be agreed after all the other terms have been sorted out - its no different to buying a house in some respects - if you agree a price, you have a survey, you try to reduce the price after the survey, searches come back, another chance to reduce - we vote Brexit, the housing market gets spooked, another price reduction - -- so agreeing a price is not binding until final signature
So many odd things about all this, Why are the Allams wanting all the money up front? its not like they are short of a bob or two. Waiting till September could seriously reduce the value of the club. If we are kicking of with the squad as it is now and our tough start to the season we could be rock bottom by then, and the transfer window will be closed ( i think ) What effect does the Allams owning the SMC have? Could the new owners buy the club but still have to rent the stadium from them?
They will sell the shares and Allamhouse will be owed £80 million. If Hull City Tigers Limited goes into administration Allamhouse get nothing. Assem Allam wanting as much cash up front as possible is sensible business practice.
Twice a deal was agreed, twice the Allams moved the goalposts, they're a pair of ****s. As far as I'm concerned, all bets are off, there should be a massive protest at the season opener, at their offices, at their homes, it's time to drive them away. Vive le revolution.
We've not decided to do so yet but I'm sure we'd be open to it. Generally it comes down to whether the fans want it. I suspect the appetite for serious protest is a lot greater now than ever before in the Allam regime.
In the same way that many supporters are finding other things to do with their money when not renewing passes, it seems probable to me that someone willing to buy the club, but is being continually dicked about, will also find something else to spend their money on. I'm not privy to any of the negotiations that others on here profess to be, but this latest situation has the hallmarks of the Brentford/Gray/Burnley deal where we dicked about and ended up losing out.
By September we'll be 4 points clear at the top and the price will have gone up again. I personally will not set foot in the ground until those bastards are gone... I urge everyone who is not a plastic 'I must watch Arsenal and Rooney' supporter to make yourself heard in the ground. Red cards, red flags anything... because sure as hell, my friends and I will be making noise at away games.
Someone in this thread used the comparison of buying & selling houses. There are those house sellers that will jeopardise a deal to sell, by rigidly insisting to recouping the money they originally spent on it. But if you have a house that has become toxic and you want rid of, then sometimes the seller has to consider taking a smaller loss now to get rid, rather than hanging on and eventually losing more than they would have originally done. Sellers have to realise that buyers have a choice and that they may have to compromise to clinch the sale. Pride comes before a fall.
Grieve must be grieving about this. (Took me a long time to think of that one, so please be generous with your 'Likes This Post')
If the Americans are still interested at this stage, then surely it will happen eventually. Most would have walked long ago. I'm prepared to wait it out if it means they leave, but I did have a slight hope that I might be about to try and scrape the money together to buy a pass/membership this season for a post-Allam Hull City. Seems unlikely now.
