The Allams are not stupid people, they are a lot of other things, but not stupid.
They will know that until the deal is signed they are burdened with the club, therefore it will be in their best interest to make it as attractive as possible for September. They will know the yanks could easily say "the team isnt strong, your bottom of the league, and experts say your relegated, we out".
by the sounds of it the actual cost of the club has been agreed but the practicality of sale is the issue. I would not be suprised if there is a member if the potential buyers team sitting in on future meetings regarding nee players to rubber stamp the deal.
the yanks will have had a budget and team ready to manage transfers, there is nothing to say they cant be involved pre sale
So many odd things about all this, Why are the Allams wanting all the money up front? its not like they are short of a bob or two. Waiting till September could seriously reduce the value of the club. If we are kicking of with the squad as it is now and our tough start to the season we could be rock bottom by then, and the transfer window will be closed ( i think )
What effect does the Allams owning the SMC have? Could the new owners buy the club but still have to rent the stadium from them?
They will sell the shares and Allamhouse will be owed £80 million. If Hull City Tigers Limited goes into administration Allamhouse get nothing. Assem Allam wanting as much cash up front as possible is sensible business practice.
So hang on, the Consortium is offering a sizeable up front payment, and a staggered payment that ends up exceeding the Allams' asking price, and that isn't good enough? Urgh.
Regardless, trying to look at it as glass half full:
- We'll now start actually focussing on transfers
- The fact the Allams are happy to resume talks after the window, and are just worried that Due Diligence would disrupt transfers, suggests they're right on the cusp of accepting an offer.
Christ I hope I never buy anything off you?sorry Bud, but any price 'agreed' is always subject to change until a contract is signed - sometimes the price is the last thing to be agreed after all the other terms have been sorted out - its no different to buying a house in some respects - if you agree a price, you have a survey, you try to reduce the price after the survey, searches come back, another chance to reduce - we vote Brexit, the housing market gets spooked, another price reduction - -- so agreeing a price is not binding until final signature

Assem Allam wants all the money up front. September gives the Americans time to raise the cash. It also puts the Americans in a stronger bargaining position as they'll know what our team looks like and what position we are in the league. They will also have some idea of the income City have generated from membership, ticket sales and merchandise.
PLT, are the Trust organising a protest against Leicester City.
In the same way that many supporters are finding other things to do with their money when not renewing passes, it seems probable to me that someone willing to buy the club, but is being continually dicked about, will also find something else to spend their money on.
I'm not privy to any of the negotiations that others on here profess to be, but this latest situation has the hallmarks of the Brentford/Gray/Burnley deal where we dicked about and ended up losing out.
Would anyone sell a house quickly if they suddenly found oil in the back garden?
They would if the selling price included the value of the oil.
