UK papers now quoting La Parisien story ... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/529631/N-Golol-Kante-Chelsea-transfer-news ...oh well ... whatever will be, will be ... thought Vardy had gone at one point. Seems strange that only this morning many press reports suggested that we would be making him an improved offer ... may not be a done deal just yet ...as the Parisien story feels to me like it is based on events yesterday .. If he leaves I will be very disappointed but at the same time we need to be a little circumspect ... I doubt we would have won the league without him last season - so I wish him all the best and, whilst i will be disappointed to see him in a Chelsea shirt, I will applaud him warmly if he plays against us .. Nothing on the official site yet ... so hold your breath ...
Ranieri said at the end of last year to the players "give us 1 more season". I don't think anyone would begrudge him a move next summer. Why would he move to Chelsea when he would be guaranteed to play a minimum of 4 champions league games this season? It really boggles the mind! I can see him moving to a different CL side like PSG, Juventus etc, but not Chelsea, the only thing he must be thinking is that the opportunity to play for them may not be there next summer. What are Chelsea and Leicester negotiating in Euros?
That is around £29M at the current exchange rate - fair enough price I suppose. Spend that money getting in William Carvalho.
Is like Matt Richie leaving Bournemouth in the Premier League for Newcastle in the Championship - the illusion of "big clubs" and all that jazz is still around. I bet Sven bid in Euros which is what Chelsea are matching.
... I'm not sure we would need Carvalho .. we have Mendy as a ready made replacement and let's not forget that he was our number 1 target for that role before we went for N'Golo Kante ... we also have Daniel Amartey who can play there plus Drinky and a coming back to full fitness Matty James ... and if I'm not mistaken it looks very much as if Hamza Choudry is training with the first team squad out in Austria ...he's the same age as Renato Sanchez who had a brilliant tournament for the Portugese ... and Ranieri is all for bringing young players through.
Is a reason why we want to keep Kante even though we have Kante - are different players with different roles and imo Carvalho can fulfill the role Kante is doing. Is a moot point as Mercury are reporting that a bid hasn't been agreed http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/l...-golo-kante/story-29507434-detail/story.html?
Rob Dorsett on Sky also reporting that no deal has been agreed with Chelsea & discussions are on going with ourselves. As I said previously, it's all if, buts, a maybe & possibly.
There has been no fee agreed with anyone and Kante is still considering his contract offer from us according to Sky and Rob Tanner
If we offer Kante 100k a week plus and he rejects it to go the Chelsea then, i'm afraid, he's a ****er. Lets hope it doesn't come down to that.
Chelsea bombshell: Club rebuff transfer claim LEICESTER have not accepted a bid from Chelsea for N'Golo Kante, according to reports. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/529763/N-Golo-Kante-Chelsea-transfer-news
According to John Percy. Chelsea have made a bid of £29M for N'Golo Kante and want to deal tied up by the weekend Thanks to Sven's bid £29M doesnt trigger the release clause so the club can reject it
The bid by Chelsea is £27M + £3M in add ons apparently but like you said, we can and will reject it https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/14/chelsea-offer-leicester-ngolo-kante
... byt China is the latest threat ... mega money ... indeed we might just get ..."..Overrun by a Chinese line... With the boys from the Mersey and the Thames and the Tyne..."
There is no way we should 'accept' any bid. Obviously if we get stitched up by the release clause that's different as it isn't really is accepting. It sounds atm like Chelsea are under this and are 'hoping' we will accept letting NG go. No way! As Fosse likes to say on the prem board, we don't need money. We don't need to make a profit and tbh with only paying £5 ish mill for him and his age, we could probably keep him for another 8-10 years and still sell him on for that so I don't agree with letting him go because it makes him happy, where's the sense in that!
For Kante to leave he has to push for a move. The club wont let anyone walk away easily or on the cheap as proven by Jamie Vardy
