Is not alledged - he has it. Chelsea's reasoning is that as PSG has met the clause, if they offer more we would be tempted - thing is how much more would selling him to a rival be? Is different to the Vardy situation as a Premier League club has met his clause so another Premier League club in Liverpool offering more won't make ultimately much of a difference to us so we can accept another bid if he says he wants to leave.
We accept psgs because we have to. Chelsea have to pay, in my opinion, his true value otherwise we don't accept it
When I say alleged I mean the champions league part not the release clause as that is common knowledge. I knew Vardy's is for champions league clubs but thought Kante's was just a straight release clause. That is good news though as some of the clubs mentioned are obviously going to need to pay as normal
I doubt Kantes is a CL clause, its probably just standard release. Why would he limit himself to only the top clubs if he was unsure about coming here? Vardys was done half way through the year when it was likely that only the CL clubs were going to finish above us.
That's my thinking, hence my surprise at the above comments. Due to the timing of when they were signed
Read somewhere that he has a a relegation release clause and a CL release clause - no player has a minimum fee clause.
Kante's going to have to morph into many smaller Kante's to go round! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...ited-Arsenal-Chelsea-Transfers-Premier-League Who makes up this stuff?
Was watching him at the Euros the other day and I very much feel that his departure is inevitable. Can't see many teams in the world that wouldn't want him, eventually someone is going to turn his head.
This is interesting - a Spanish website is reporting that Real are interested in Kante and that he doesn't have a release fee http://sportwitness.co.uk/no-mention-release-clause-leicester-city-star-trailed-spanish-giants/?
Apparently Kante's release clause is very complex and full of complications http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicesters-ngolo-kante-transfer-saga-8282321 By the sounds of it clubs are chasing shadows with it much like Arsenal did with Luis Suarez's release clause Liverpool put a £40M release clause in his contract which Arsenal met only to be rejected after they found out it was offers over £40M. So they bid £40M+£1 only to be rejected again They then found out the clause purely said any others over that amount meant Liverpool had to inform the player of the bid. It didnt mean anything about them being obliged to accept the offer
Well, we're not going to be able to do anything if Madrid come calling, however, he's not necessarily going to start for them.
... is anyone really that surprised that the best clubs in the world are looking at him after his performances last season? ... I'm not ,,, but that doesn't mean that he will definitely go ... look what happened with de Gea at United ... until I actually see him either saying or being directly quoted as wanting to leave it is all speculative bollox ...
De Gea wanted to go but Man U or Madrid botched the paperwork and didn't file it on time. I have no problem with Kante leaving us for a CL club outside the prem. I would question why he would leave us for another prem club, as theres nothing more they can offer that we can't for next season.
If Ral Madrid come calling, it would be hard for him to turn them down surely. And to play for his fellow Frenchman Zidane. Id much rather lose Mahrez over Kante, but it looks unlikely.
I was resigned to losing him months ago - Mendy was undoubtedly signed as a replacement. Will be interesting to see if he can live up to Kante's standard.
