Agreed. To say that it would be any different is wrong. However to think that the enjoyed benefits for business won't be hit and that rather than grudging partners that the cac and dax won't go for londonderry jugular is equally wrong. Irrespective of entende cordial when it comes to business the knives will be sharp... we can now only sit to the side hoping to compete rather than being in using the mechanisms to protect our interests.
Let's hope you are right but I am afraid it will happen. Of course we won't be enemies. We'll be on good terms. But it is a huge commitment to take on passport control in Calais. The daily lives of their residents have been and are disrupted by the sheer number of people wanting to cross the channel. And UK border control is a national uk responsibility. Why would they take it on if we are no longer EU members?
The Leave mentality is we're only voting against all the parts of the EU we don't like. We still get to keep all the benefits we just don't need to pay for them any more.
It is interesting that the Leavers have been and are so optimistic reflecting the message given by the lead Brexiteers. The likes of Boris Gove ids Patel have blatantly lied and glossed over the negatives of Brexit. The Leave camp have been dismissive of every single warning given by experts. There were warnings that there will be short term economic disruption, and also that there will be an incentive for the EU to make the divorce as unamicable as possible. Not that they suddenly hate the Brits but they simply HAVE to discourage others. All we had were screams of scaremongering. No plans from the Brexiteers on how to deal with the eu post Brexit. We are currently rudderless, with a prime minister whose power is draining away by the hour. Ridiculous but lots of the leave voters are admitting they wanted to give the government a kicking rather than make a decision about the EU. They just never thought we would be out like we are. Man interviewed: " I voted leave. I woke up Friday morning and realised we were out of the EU. I was very scared as I didn't expect this." Lots of interviews like this. Let's give the EU a kicking but we'll carry on as normal.
Pointless. If every person who voted remain signed it then it would still be pointless. The decision is taken. 72% turned up which is at least 10% shy of the numbers there should have been given the size of decision. Those who stayed home cos it rained for me are far worse than any leaver. I was watching this bbc thing earlier interviewing people in hull.. This fat spotty Prick.. apprentice in a ****ty looking machine shop. I voted leave cos eventually there'll be more money in my pocket Next to him a girl.. also rotund.. I've two kids she says I voted remain. Guess who will be first fired when the crunch comes......
"Funeral Pyre" Down in amongst the streets tonight Books will burn, people laugh and cry in their turmoil (Turmoil turns rejoiceful) Shed your fears and lose your guilt Tonight we burn responsibility in the fire We'll watch the flames grow higher But if you get too burnt, you can't come back home And as I was standing by the edge I could see the faces of those who led Pissing theirselves laughing (and the flames grew) Their mad eyes bulged, their flushed faces said The weak get crushed as the strong grow stronger We feast on flesh and drink on blood Live by fear and despise love in a crisis (What with today's high prices) Bring some paper and bring some wood Bring what's left of all your love for the fire We'll watch the flames grow higher But if you get too burnt, you can't come back home And as I was standing by the edge I could see the faces of those who led Pissing theirselves laughing (and the flames grew) Their mad eyes bulged, their flushed faces said The weak get crushed as the strong grow stronger In the funeral pyre We'll watch the flames grow higher But if you get too burnt, you can't come back home In the funeral pyre We'll watch the flames grow higher But if you get too burnt, you can't come back home In the funeral pyre (Well I feel so old, when I feel so young Well, I just can't grow up to meet the demands) We'll watch the flames grow higher But if you get too burnt, you can't come back home (Well I feel so old, when I feel so young Well, I just can't grow up to meet the demands) (Well I feel so old, when I feel so young Well, I just can't grow up to meet the demands) (Well, I just can't grow up to meet the demands)
On the BBC just now: Two women (aged >>70) smiling: " very happy. We got what we want. We want to be as before. We hate being bossed about. Haha"
Why would the EU want another bunch of scroungers to support they have enough with Greece and the other basket case countries.
well apart from the Scots needing to accept the Euro and therefore joining the biggest problem the EU has. one slight flaw is that the average period it takes to join the EU is years - by which time they might want us back as well
And don't forget that he and Gove-adder made some sort of deal with Murdoch at his wedding. You saw the look of shock and concern on Boris's face on Friday - whatever the price to be paid is, I'll bet it's going to ****ing cost.
Without doubt it'll cost. We'll see how the flag waving, 'our country', immigrant hating, dickheads who felt it would be a boss idea to do something that no country has ever done in modern history I.e. Leave the EU - feel about their decision when they're sat on the dole after the factory they work in is relocated to Eastern Europe. They'll probably blame the darkies like.
Greenland did leave the EU and that has to be modern history cos i remember it and yes i know the 2 economies are very different as is the EU from then but factually your statement is incorrect (ducks) PS Croatia v Portugal makes N Ire v Wales look like a classic
Power to the people... But as Churchill (the politician, not the insurance dog voiced by Bob Mortimer) once said about democracy, it's the worst system there is, apart from all the others. No more referendums - the people, albeit the knuckle-dragging ****wits included, have spoken. I think there should be a September/October General Election though. Oh, and on that score, my apologies to Tobes. When Dustbin was elected leader of the Labour Party (even though I'd voted for Burnham), despite your forebodings I said that Corbyn would be better than Kendall, wouldn't really **** up too much, and as he wouldn't be there by the 2020 election he couldn't do too much wrong. Good God, I was wrong and you were right. Nonetheless, democracy and all that notwithstanding, Gisela Stuart should be kicked out and go to her real home in the Tory party. Cow.
