Can I just point out that the ITV commentator isn't making me want to vomit during this match. He's actually pretty good. 1000 times better than Clive Tyldesley.
Maybe I'm weird but I really like Ian Dowie as the 'colour commentary', he just makes me laugh. "I was hoping for 2 minutes..." indeed.
Ian Dowie was fine too. Co-commentators have to be truly awful to annoy me because they often don't say much anyway. I just can't stand Tyldesley. Such a fawning nonce who couldn't find the right words if he rehearsed all night..
No pain, so pleased for norn iron and I feel that second goal will help massively. Just chucked a pound on on a whim, more in hope than expectation!
Oh I forgot to add as I'm half-Irish (although Eire-side) and I was absolutely chuffed to bits. It's the first game I jumped off the sofa when a goal was scored. The tournament is now getting a bit better.
Your intuition is spot on. Nothing personal obviously, I just don't think he's any good. There are some tremendous commentators around who add to the occasion. He detracts. He's another ITV commentator and they've had some bummers over the years. Never thought much of Brian Moore's commentaries, while he was around either. Nice bloke, nothing personal. Hugh Johns was brilliant. So was Martin Tyler [now Sky] who used to work for Southern TV [Southern Soccer] at one point before going nationwide with ITV, which is why he has a soft spot for Southampton FC, I believe. Can't think of anyone else at present.
