When said BBC employee actually writes an article that mirrors that forum post in terms of the detail, then come back to me mate. Don't hold your breath though
For those of us who like thinking about such things, this whole argument between Tones & us is actually framing problem. Essentially we agree, but he's not seeing it as we're saying using pro-saints language. We disagree with him when he uses pro-Everton language. A slight change in phrasing and both sides are fine, despite the facts remaining the same. Humans are very silly about this type of thing...
I've been a tax-dodging student for most of those posts, a kid in school/sixth form for the rest. I genuinely don't understand why anyone would care enough to devote so much time to arguing on another club's forum. It's weird.
For what it's worth I've just pinged a message to an ex player I chat to occasionally with the link - and he's someone still very much involved with the club. He may or may not reply, depending on how discreet he feels. I mean, obviously Tobes and his mate from Everton will know more about the internal goings on at Saints than him, but I'll let you know if he comes back to me.
The guy who posted that did it on Sotonians and says he got his info from from someone who works for Saints so of course there's going to be a pro-Saints spin to what he says. He also claims to be recounting a conversation that took place "a few days" ago. Perfectly possible he's mixed up a detail or two. The basic narrative we all pretty much agree on though. Negotiations between Saints and Koeman were going well, Everton offered Koeman big money (both in his pay packet and to spend), Koeman likely went back to Saints but they weren't prepared to up their offer, Koeman is likely to end up at Everton. What you believe beyond that is largely irrelevant and mainly about spin, PR and which club you support.
