He also said it's disappointing that so many make their decisions based on money rather than football.

    Okay then, Ronald. :)

Really bollocks.? That's a generalisation in itself. In my personal experience of knowing people from many levels of society I have found that the most genuine tend to come from those who have nothing. Those are my personal facts. Otherwise I wouldn't put forward my opinion.

So no Emery or De Boer. The list is shrinking. Good job we all trust Les. Although he is a football man and we have decided we don't trust them anymore

Fair enough, basing your views on personal experience is one way of concluding, but doesn't necessarily make it correct, but being personal to your experience they are therefore valid - to you.

Best odds at the moment are 10/1 with Paddy Power.

    8/1 with Betfair
    9/2 with Coral
    4/1 with BetVictor

Market will open up tomorrow once Ronald's gone.

This is true! Have you seen the price of them online?

The rest of what you said was a massive generalisation.

It's not as black-and-white as this, I don't think. Yes, money is the decider at the final reckoning here, but there is also a big professional challenge here. One that perhaps isn't worth the grief and stress for £1m more on his salary, but when you double a salary, aligned to the challenge and project, it becomes an attractive package. Not for you or me, but for an ambitious manager who probably sees himself as otherwise treading water (whether that's the Solent or the Irish Sea) waiting for a couple of choice jobs which he sees as his inevitable destination. If Villa offered him the same, I doubt he would go. If Burnley offered him the same, I doubt he'd go. He's starting at a low bar with Everton, and I bet he's factored in the professional aspect alongside the cash.

I'm not defending him in my posts, btw. Just stopped believing the lip service years ago, and so maybe feel less let down. Feel confident he's left us in a very good place, and not sure there was much more he could do - was slightly concerned about how he could motivate himself and the players in the third season, given that we for now seem at a fairly realistic performance ceiling in regard to what our current business model can achieve for us. A jump start is definitely not a bad thing, and would have been more pissed off had this been mid-season, or late into summer. Improving us again, with Europa in the mix, would have been tough; maybe a fresh approach and added pressure on any new manager coming in will be beneficial, so I'm happy to keep focusing on this aspect rather than the man who's going.

DTLW, did you realise they interviewed Matty for the programme.? Just heard a trailer for what's coming and he seemed a little scathing, but in his usual polite way. I'll see if I can record it or seek it out.
