It's misleading to consider the City boundary, as it's tighter than almost every other City. Most would include the surrounding villages as greater Hull at least.

I'd be looking to sign some decent Championship players. We have too many players in our current team that when push comes to shove they go missing.

Gleeson and Cotterill at Birmingham look really decent players in this division. I'd even look at Donaldson who looks a nightmare to play against.

We need to build a team with more energy about them and a better work ethic.

If Burnley look to improve their strike force on promotion, then Vokes wouldn't be a bad starting place.

It's time for a massive clear out.

I'd get rid of, including those leaving due to contract expiry:

Huddlestone
Snodgrass
Elmohamady
Taylor
Jakupovic (I'd actually keep him as he's done well when called upon)
Powell
Livermore
Dawson (Good, but often injured, give Maguire the game time he deserves)
Hernandez
Diame
Maloney

I'd sign

Cotterill (Replacement for Snodgrass, cheaper right footed right winger and his crossing whenever I have seen it has been brilliant)
Gleeson (Replacement for Huddlestone and or Livermore)
Alan Judge (Free scoring midfielder with energy)
Donaldson
Nakhi Wells
Sam Vokes
Hayden

Retain

McGregor
Bruce
Maguire
Davies
Odubajo
Meyler
Diomande
Robertson

Young players coming through
Tymon
Lenihan

Required

Centre Half
Central Midfielder

They rarely clash.Indeed. I think the most untapped bit is within the City itself. I know loads of football fans in Hull who I've worked with or been to school with or whatever. Could talk to them about Leicester winning the league and other PL goings on for hours but the vast majority have never seen a live match. City really need to tap into that.

Most of the ****s wearing LFC shirts in this city are 45 years plus....the spineless bastards who jumped on the bandwagon when LFC ruled Europe. They've been lying dormant a few years but now they're starting to show again. Saw one sat outside Cod yesterday with his long-suffering lass, and another in town. These are people who justified their choice by saying "City are **** they've called in the Receiver why should I watch that crap when I can get the Transpennine to Liverpool. and then watch RL on the Sunday?"
They've been almost eradicated in the last ten years as we've climbed and LFC have been ****, but now, like cockroaches, they didn't die off. Reprieved by a Klopp-Allam lifeline.
We almost did it - a ten year cycle of success to wean a generation off the Top 4 grooming of their dads & uncles. Now Allam had handed it to them on a plate. "Go and watch another team".
As if any excuse was needed, in thousands of Hull households......

It's not all about catchment area. Just been pointed out on radio that Burnley population is less than 100k. They have several other East Lancs clubs (and a lot of sheep) in the nearby vicinity, plus of course the competition from Manchester. And it isn't neccesarily about big crowds as much as it once was, with the TV money. Look at how Bournemouth have survived with a capacity of about 14k?
I think if we got the club sorted out, the spirit would return and we could soon be back to crowds above 20k on a regular basis in the Championship and very competitive, but obviously that's a big if just at the moment.

Whatever.

This squad is by far the best we've had at this level. What they don't have is character.
What other conclusion can there be? In 2008 we had about 4 captains on the pitch with Ashbee, Barmby, Windass & Brown (not to mention Perdersen and Clement). That lot refused to lose, or only lost after a fight. Leaders all over the pitch.
Thsi team doesn't have that. That's why we're in the playoffs not automatic.

Full stadium right there......

Our attendance dropped the second season under Browny.
Adam propped up the attendances with freebies to the NHS Smith n Nephew and others.

We need sustained success for years and years and i mean real success.

We've lost some diehards due to the Allams. Most are just passing through types looking at the PL opposition.

It really isnt there. We have no chance of 30 plus.

Swansea still havent gone beyond 20 as they are still building the fanbase. We're no different--well without the success.

Clearly not, otherwise we would be occupying P1 or P2.

Swansea are still at 20k as that's how many seats they've got, they can only sell them once, there's a waiting list for season passes.

Clement hardly played FFS

I know but they have had 5/6 seasons in the PL and still havent bought the ground. Which is my point. Until we are oversubscirbed it would be ridiculous to do it.
Again not only has a new owner to buy the club give the Airco back build a new Academy, he's also got to extend the stadium to 35000.

Some dont want much do they

The Airco won't be given back now and no-one is going to expand the ground until the demand is there, at which point it will be done for commercial reasons.

I think a massive factor is managing expectations.

We had decades of going when we were ****, but we had some of the most fun.

We have had a decent period of success, but it seems to coincide with some fans loosing their sense of fun.

Too many have been determined to justify their negativity, and I think it's worn down a lot of others.

Agreed.

Some of these non Boothferry era fans can't hack the realities of supporting a club through thick and thin.
