There's another former Man Utd defender twiddling his thumbs. He'll be desperate to get back into football punditry and needs to wipe the slate clean after Valencia. If Gary Neville got us promoted he could walk back to Sky with his head held high.

Iv'e said a few times, i don't think they are really trying to sell. If we limp over the line again its 100 million almost even if we end up in last place next season and then there will be more parachute payments, would be madness not to go for it.

Although if it goes tits up and we don't go up???? I can see why Bruce is not looking so happy these days, been getting his arse kicked from those above.

It's entirely up to them of course, but my point is it doesn't make sense. If it was that easy to get that value back into the club then a new buyer would have no problem paying a higher price for it now and then doing it himself.

The reason they'll only get the price they want if we get promoted is that their gamble will have paid off, but that's exactly what it is. It's exactly the same as my roulette analogy. They could give up and walk away or they could gamble further. Just like in the casino, gambling again to win it back doesn't guarantee that you won't achieve the opposite.

It's that old one about how to make a small fortune in football by starting with a large one. The Allam family have tied themselves to a speculative venture that already failed to deliver what they expected at the outset; getting hold of the stadium and being allowed to develop land around it. When they had a premier league club to sell they missed their chance and are still waiting for the ideal opportunity to move it on. Meanwhile their emotional response to HCC blocking the windfall has driven their management of the club in everything they've done since. The only saving grace is that they're so far into their investment that they can't afford to cut their nose off to spite their face, and have to keep funding the side in the hope of promotion. That's not gone as well as they thought, so what next?

He's getting his arse kicked by other managers, many with far less experience than him.

Just to make a point, he didn't say in his post that he wants him. And lots, nay nearly all, managers fail somewhere. Especially when they're young. It's called learning and experience and is why not many people go straight from school to be the CEO of a company.

A case in point is the coach of last year's champions league finalist was so unpopular an appointment after perceived failure in his last job that thousands of fans turned up at the club headquarters to protest on the day he was announced.

It`s also called gross mismanagement of talent most young managers without experience could only dream of, don`t cover cracks with `it was his first time` shyte. They guy has been working alongside the greatest manager the Premier League has ever seen in Ferguson, and latterly he has been working alongside the England manager, quite simply he may be a decent coach at some level but a amanager he isn`t.

Ruddy Nora.... How many managers havent been sacked? Go on, list 'em.

He took a stupid job on yes - his first one should not have been at a big club in a bad patch where most of the players dont speak the same language as him, but that really doesnt mean he should be written off forever.

I'll go back to the example I referenced above and say that said coach and said coach alone decided to give Andrea Pirlo a free transfer at 31 cos he thought he was finished.

We none of us know who is going to be successful and why. What sparked the turnaround at Leicester for instance? Was it the backroom boys or the manager? Was it NP or Claudio that finally made the changes that made the difference? Does the owner work with the coaching and management team to learn about the game or take a back seat? Do they trust one another? Applying that to City; is the problem with building a successful team one that starts at the top? What needs to change to get the wheels firmly fastened back on, and will we ever really know the truth about what goes on behind closed doors?

Great example. Ranieri has largely underachieved throughout his entire career save for a brief successful spell at Valencia. How many Lester fans were overjoyed at his appointment?

I`ve already indicated that in my opinion, this club will have SB as manager until either a) he leaves of his own accord or b) we get new owners. The ridiculous suggestions of prospective managers should SB go is truly laughable, would you leave your post to enter a club with such uncertainty, I know I blood wouldn`t
