Should steve Bruce be ****ed off?

Ive always been pro Bruce until this week really but with my own points on here I'm starting to convince myself it's time he went.

I think that some people have voted yes even when they thought no because somehow they're that sad they didn't want to admit to wanting him gone on an anonymous poll on a forum where they don't have to disclose their identity.

I guess that most on here were optimistic that, with SB being a chumpionship manager, he would be able to get us to bounce back...
we need to get shot of him for PL.
 
Allam won't get a buyer unless we are in the PL. Looks like club and owner are stuck with each other unless we get a sudden upturn in our on pitch performances
 
Does bruce have ny logic at times?

Couple of points

The main bug bear of mine being huddlestone, basically every time hes played as the main focus in our side weve hit abit of crap form, bruce then comes out and speaks off us being too slow which pretty much sums huddlestone up. He slows the speed of play down massivley allowing teams to get back and become very hard to break down. When hes been removed from the time its no coincidence we score more and look alot more threatening. My question is why does he insist on slipping huddlestone back into the team ?

Another thing i noticed is his stubborness with elmohamady i think elmo needed a spell out the team as bruce stated he had his head turned, january came and went, weve been lacking creativity for a while now yet weve persisted in keeping one of our top assisters on the bench for a huge chunk of the season, can snodgrass not play on the left and elmo on the right?

I also think bruce has dropped a huge clanger persisting with a negative formation/system in the hope diame finds some consistency. Why hasnt he been dropped for a striker and a change to a more attacking system?

Just my penneth worth but think all of the above have contributed to a monumental **** up when placed in a very good position to secure automatic promotion.

Bad decisions in football have huge impacts. So far bruce has made quite alot, lets hope he can rectify them and we can secure at least a play off spot. But for me time to go bruce i think hes abit tactically inept at times but the millions dollar question is who do we bring in whos available

Its not our recent away defeats that have pushed us out of the promotion picture in terms of automatic (I expected us to lose at Derby and Middlesborough) it's our inability to beat below average sides like MK Dons and Forest at home. Those 4 points would have kept us well in with a shout even now.

We hear this a lot but how is it right? It's not like Championship clubs never get sold.

If it's a question of how much someone is willing to pay, surely they will pay what they think it's worth at the current time. If we're not a PL side then of course it's not worth PL money and so people won't offer that, and if the owners are expecting that then they're completely unrealistic.

They can talk about getting their money back but the fact is their stewardship has led to the club's worth decreasing. It's not worth what they put in so the only way they get that back is to hope that the club increases its value again, either through spending big or hoping we just somehow get promoted anyway. Either way, it's nothing less than gambling, and if it was that easy to guarantee, a new owner wouldn't baulk at paying a Premier League price for it now.
 
Think we need a wholesale change in the City management and its composition. Just reading a book that many of you may have read which essentially looks at what makes a successful team. In short its a function of how much much you pay the players. Pay the players more money you get better players, the better players you have the more successful you are. There are teams that do well by getting players that don't cost an arm generally younger and unknown that they later sell on for a profit and have already found a replacement for. We have to be one of those. We can't compete with Arsenal Man U etc. This leads you to the conclusion that our biggest investment should be in recruitment (after paying the players) not in paying a known manager like SB. (Leicester seem to be doing quite good at recruitment!). Nor should our recruitment be controlled by one man al la SB at the moment. In fact many teams are moving to keeping the manager or head coach out of this part. So a move to a Technical Director and Coach could be the way to go when SB leaves. The technical director assisted by the coach and others on the recruitment team should make a crowd decision on signings. The permanence should be the Technical Director and his team, coaches can come and go nor do they need to be a big name there are lots of qualified coaches.

And interestingly the authors make the argument that supporters would as a crowd do at least as good as job as the manager of selecting the team! So maybe this forums suggestions for team selection in aggregate may not be to far off.

The book by the way is:Soccernomics. And the stuff in it is all backed up by data, great read. Its a few years old but still very relevant.

The only way they will get their money back is if we are in the PL. That means they need to invest in the playing staff to the extent that we have a squad that is continually challenging for promotion. If they fail to do that and the standard of player we can attract decreases and we become a mid-table championship team they will never get the price they want. Also they have said they won't sell to just anyone but want the club to have a "good home."

Off that list only Sherwood. Rowett at Birmingham seems to have a growing reputation in the game. Gary Monk? Allam wouldn't re-appoint Square head. No thanks to Mclaren for me. No way Di Canio and I'm not convinced by Robinson.
 
If the Allams are still here when he leaves, I feel sure it will be someone to enhance their reputation. If they want to be where they and we want to be they'll stump up to get the right person. My opinion and that means jack of course. We could do worse then do what Watford and Sheffield Wednesday and Boro have done and got someone in with a bit of flair about them. Who knows..

Yeah I know all that, but it doesn't make sense. If they gamble on going up it's not guaranteed to work. That's why prospective buyers won't pay the same price they would for a current PL side.

Basically (analogy) the Allams have lost a load of money on the roulette and they're refusing to go home until they've won it all back.

For all their faults you can't blame them. Would you just walk away and take a hit of tens of millions when you've a realistic chance of getting it back? Would anyone?
