In the Hull Daily Fail today… Bruce considering his future even if we are promoted. Seemingly still fuming on missing out on Gray … seems might have been a funds issue… Doesn't stop him being crap mind… http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...e-considers/story-29002005-detail/story.html?
And the source for this story is.....? Oh I'm sorry I forgot....there are no games this weekend, so they have to fill some column space with non stories and baseless rumours. And there's always some thick **** who takes it as gospel.
Would it really surprise you? The whole palsy act between them is absent, his need for goals is no secret, we know Bruce likes to buy his way out of trouble. I would not be surprised to see a jaded manager say he is glad to leave when he fails in his promotion bid, or, equally, him stay reluctantly, when he gains promotion and he holds out for better terms. Bruce has been in the Doldrums for some time, nothing should surprise any of us.
It would not surprise me if he left at the end of the season. Reasons:- - time for a change as he's tired of all the bollox here - he knows he's taken us as far as he can -stain of relegation erased or alternatively not erased and he's given us up as a bad job -realised he can't work with the current owners as the Andre Grey affair shows However the chances of him discussing his plans in public are zero, so the newspaper story is bollox.
It's journalism, reflecting what many are thinking. The idea that he leaves, regardless, of the promotion outcome, is something to look forward to.
Journalism reports facts not wishes. It's only something to look forward to if we we get someone who is guaranteed to do better...... Given our owners abysmal track record with Pearson and Barmby, the chances of finding a decent manager prepared to put up with their bollox are not good.
there is absolutely no interview or quote emanating from Steve Bruce in this "article", the sole line is "the Sun are reporting"
Barmby was clearly a stop-gap, he wasn't trusted with any money Pearson did very well on a shoestring budget The Allams' stewardship leaves a lot to be desired but Steve Bruce has "put up with" the owners, in terms of diplomacy, you couldn't fault him
The whole Barmby spat was (at least publicly) about rEhab telling Barmby to spend and Barmby 'wouldn't'. (Pass me the sack of Saxa would you?) Unconfirmed reports say it was all about Barmby's refusal to 'respect' the authority of rEhab, leading to a confrontation. As for Pearson, he was an Adam Pearson appointment and you can't imagine him tolerating too much backstage bollox. Under Pearson, we had turned the corner and were heading upwards....no footballing reasons for him to leave. The gagging order on Barmby tells its own story. Suspect that when Steve Bruce publishes his autobiography, the section on City will be an eye-opener in terms of what he has had to manage 'backstage'.
He's setting his stall out early - he's been garbage for two years now - if we don't get automatic with all that money, then he's failed and should be sacked - if we do get promotion, he's proved over and over again that he's not good enough for the Prem and he should be sacked - can't see that many coming in for him with a cv of **** football, overspending, falling out with players and jumping ship - should have left after the cup final before he ****ed up Europe and got us relegated
The whole Barmby spat was (at least publicly) about rEhab telling Barmby to spend and Barmby 'wouldn't'. (Pass me the sack of Saxa would you?) God you're a needy little attention seeking ****. Unconfirmed reports say it was all about Barmby's refusal to 'respect' the authority of rEhab, leading to a confrontation. All bolllocks then. barmby rabbit in the headlights, useless but nice. As for Pearson, he was an Adam Pearson appointment and you can't imagine him tolerating too much backstage bollox. Under Pearson, we had turned the corner and were heading upwards....no footballing reasons for him to leave. No backstage bollocks, they allow managers to manage. May be summat to do with him been a tad racist?? Or never wanting to be here in the first place. The gagging order on Barmby tells its own story. All it says is Nick has gone for the money throughout his career. Suspect that when Steve Bruce publishes his autobiography, the section on City will be an eye-opener in terms of what he has had to manage 'backstage'.
I'm not surprised he is considering his future, if we don't get promoted he won't have one here. If we do, he will need the same enthusiasm from our first Premier League season with him. But I doubt he will last long given his track record.
Yeah. The 90% pay cut he took to join his hometown club was really chasing the money wasn't it. Or the paycut and calling time on his playing career prematurely to manage the team. Only to be ****ed off for absolutely nothing and then turned on by City fans for no reason other than blind loyalty to the almighty Allams. Rabbit in headlights? Took over a team in 8th place, no money to spend, squad of 15 players, finished 8th.
Barmby did well with what he had. For somebody who enjoys celebrating mediocrity, I'm surprised at Chazz's disdain here. It must've been in our top 35 league finishes?
In part, it does. Far too narrow a remit. We've seen everything Bruce has, it's way past time for a change.
