There are a lot of people in this world that are influenced by the awarding of a cash pay-out hence the "where there is a blame there is a claim" comes from.
In this instance i reckon, not necessarily the girl but her family have jumped on that payroll bandwagon to earn an easy buck or two.
Adam Johnson did wrong and he will get the correct sentence according to the judge when it is passed, but sometimes people see ways to make easy money.

How do you know this? The only person I know for a fact who made money out of the case is Johnson who carried on raking in £60,000 per week plus endorsements.
it his HIS family courting media attention with their "Adam Johnson is innocent" facebook pages and it is they who are slagging of the girl and making it obvious who she is by publishing barely pixilated photos of her. It has become so serious that some are reported to have been told, by the police, that they will be arrested and charged if they do not stop. I have not seen a single thing even claiming that the girls family made money out of this let alone proving it (unlike the Johnson lot).

I read somewhere that the family were after up to £1million in compensation, wish i could find where i read it.
I don't think Johnson made money from the case, he was still earning his wage while the case was going on.
i think its Johnsons sisters ex boyfriend who has that Facebook account and he has apparently been warned about his actions.

My parents and millions of other parents told their kids not to take drugs and it never stopped many of us.

I knew this point was going to be the fall-back "Ah but my kid wouldn't" so we can chat unfounded **** when it suits you but we can't speak hypothetically?

Whether they choose to sue him or not is completely irrelevant and has no bearing on the case, I'd like to think any parent's initial reaction would be to report a nonse so they didn't go on to harm any other innocent minors.

Agree with being told not to take drugs etc.
Can only speak for myself about my daughter.
Agree with any parent should report a nonce, absolutely.
All i am saying is that now he has been found guilty i think the family will sue for compensation.
If he had been found not guilty they could not sue.
Its my opinion on what i think the family will do.

That bit in bold, that's the bit that is based on assumption, you don't know if they have or have not done anything yet, I don't get why you'd bring it up, the morning of Adam Johnson's sentencing, it's been in the news for over a year now and today he gets sentenced and you choose today to say that your opinion of a family you know absolutely nothing about, is that they have a gold-digging mentality.

Whether they do or don't is irrelevant to this, if you're proved right it bears no relevance to this case.

People have made suggestions that Adam Johnson is going to be disproportionately punished by comparison to others, due to media pressure... that's absolute horse ****, he's a nonse and as far as I'm concerned whatever he is given is not enough. If he'd done that to a child relative of mine, I'd want his head cut off with a rusty butter knife.
 
The facts that came out in court were that he knew her age and that he used his position as her idol to groom her into consenting to sexual activity.
As far as I'm concerned that girl is the innocent victim of a predator.
Having said this, I get the feeling that some on here are asking for the same kind of sentencing that violent rapists get, which I believe would be totally OTT.

Hope the judge doesn't go for concurrent sentences - could be sentenced for a total of 5/6 but still only serve 1/2.

Yes that bit should be re-written to "i think" instead of "have" because i don't know. i got that bit wrong.
The reason i brought it up today is because its coming to the end of the case with sentencing pending and that after the sentencing is when i think they might sue for compensation. Its all about what i think not what i know.
If the family don't sue then i will apologise on here for thinking wrongly of the family in question.
The judge is there to give a fair sentencing on what facts have been told at court and what fits the crime.
I really cant comment on what you would want to happen to him if he did anything to one of your family as its your opinion, to which we are all entitled.

It's a good film but apparently factually inaccurate. Supposedly there would not have been a 9 year old boy in a camp like that as he would have been murdered on arrival as he was too small and weak to work. That said, we have bought the DVD and I will watch it with my son as it's a good intro for him to start understanding what happened during the Holocaust.

As for Adam Johnson, I don't know how long he will get but it will almost certainly be longer than Graham Rix who groomed and then had sex with a friend's daughter. Amazing that Chelsea gave him his job back straight after he was released from prison.

not seen the film myself but one i would like to watch at some time.

That's where you and I differ then, you have no proof to suggest he would have stopped at one underage girl, just as I have no proof he would have gone on to sexually abuse more children, but there are very few things in my book worse than abusing minors sexually. He deserves more than whatever he gets today, this country is far too soft with punishment.

The point I was making is that I believe it would have been far worse if he had kidnapped and beat the crap out of her before raping her.
