Doubtless there will be a tariff for the offences he committed, but the judge can use his noddle and balance a lot out using all the case investigation evidence carried out by the police. I did not follow the court case as they often do not often represent the whole events leading up to the offences taking place so taking mitigating circumstances such as the girl's apparent willingness to meet him and snog etc may play a part in his sentence.

He may only get a suspended sentence as the cold hard facts are what the judge will go on and not the speculation as media reporting counts for nowt.

I honestly think you are wrong with this one mate..The judges are under pressure from the media, especially in high profile cases such as this.

Understand that RAW, but AJ was nowt but a dick happy man who did not think with anything other than his appendage. Had the so called grooming been done to mislead her in any way then he deserves everything the law allows. But it was a two way one and if she is capable of giving him an oral then she ain't no innocent. Agree he has broken the law but losing a lucrative job and possibly career is big enough. Sticking him behind bars gains nothing and the state has to keep him. On the sex offenders register also means he could not work abroad.

You think losing his job is enough?

Of course she was willing! She was a child in awe of her hero! The cold hard facts are that he deliberately abused someone who he knew was underage. I couldn't give a flying **** what he has lost. What about her family? It will have torn them apart. Even his family. Can his parents and family look at him in the same light? Only losers in this case.

The cold hard facts is that he's a **** and your views make me vomit.

Just pointing out that the girl (not child) was complicit from the beginning and although the tariff for this type of offence can be steep the offence falls more into the category of stupid rather than salacious. Flirtation leading to groping etc and I believe he was found not guilty on one of the charges.

I do not see how his profession and relative fame should be used to give him a great punishment. We'll know soon enough.

There's an underlying tone of empathy towards Johnson from some of you, I ****ing hope he gets 100,000 years and his balls smashed open with a claw hammer. He should be made an example of, he's a professional footballer.

It was the "losing of a lucrative job and possibly career is big enough" that annoyed me a bit. He'll be financially sound for the rest of his life if he doesn't earn another penny.

Sad case and sad days for all the people concerned. Not him though, he caused it.

Maybe i am being a cynic here and while i do have sympathy for what this "naïve" girl went through i am sure her and her family will be well recompensed for what she and they have gone through.
There are a lot of people in this world that are influenced by the awarding of a cash pay-out hence the "where there is a blame there is a claim" comes from.
In this instance i reckon, not necessarily the girl but her family have jumped on that payroll bandwagon to earn an easy buck or two.
Adam Johnson did wrong and he will get the correct sentence according to the judge when it is passed, but sometimes people see ways to make easy money.

Before people knew the facts so many were happy to run with the story that the girl lured him into thinking she was 18 in a club, hasn't anybody learned anything from this?

Presumptions like the one Crumble has just inferred are all categorically unfounded.

i am not bothered about pre story rumours etc. the facts are out now and the court case has run its path.
I am presuming that the family will now be after a pay-out to soften the blow of what has been a very traumatic time for them.

same here Billy but mostly with lads their same age.
There was one girl however that we all know was getting poked by someone much older but times have changed and they are by far more well protected now.

Presuming. Why? What do you gain from making unfounded assumptions?

If it happened to your daughter would your first thought be about money?

She is a child regardless of what you say and he is an adult which is why he was on trial and not her.
He manipulated her (that's why he had to admit to grooming) and she was manipulated...to blame her or to hold her as responsible in any way after he pleaded guilty to 2 charges and was convicted of a third one is plainly wrong.
He manipulated a child into having sexual contact with him and the child bares no responsibility for his behaviour.

    And therein lies the difference.
TBH with you I don't know whether she was naive or not, which is the point I was trying to make.
Either way Johnson is a stupid, thick, brains in cock twat.

I don't stand to gain anything from unfounded assumptions, its just what i think they will do, its an opinion i have.
No it wouldn't, but then again i know my daughter wouldn't and didn't get into that position.
