The bizarre thing is, by playing him they've effectively forfeited any chance of getting the past year's wages back off him. If they'd suspended him and not played him, they might well have been able to sue him for that money, but not now.
To be fair, he probably hasn't got much of the cash left, these players seem to spend it almost as quickly as they get it. In Johnson's case, probably on sweets, puppies, Harry Potter books etc
I think they will be. If they think that their members get longer sentences simply because they are professional footballers they will be interested. Whether they do anything about it is the question.
You seriously think the PFA are going to state that a player who groomed an underage girl was too harshly punished? Seriously?
Wrong question. I've said, at least three times, that I expect them to do sweet fa. He's going to get at least 5 years, if the judge is to be believed, for sending rude tweets, kissing her and putting his hand down her pants. Its his first offence. The police found no child porn and received no complaints from any other girls. If he wasn't a famous footballer he'd get nowhere near that sentence. Stuart Hall got 5 years when his original sentence was reviewed on appeal.
Again I'm not supporting Johnson but those footballers dont get a fair go do they http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/man-...ld-abduction/story-28862157-detail/story.html
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/35729416/fifa-16-working-to-remove-adam-johnson-from-game The company behind FIFA 16 is "working to remove" Adam Johnson from the game "as soon as possible". The former Sunderland winger was convicted this week of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl. He previously admitted another count of sexual activity and one count of grooming. He was found not guilty on a charge relating to another sexual act. He's yet to be sentenced and the judge has warned he could face up to 10 years behind bars. But gamers firing up their copies of FIFA 16 can, for the moment, still select the 28-year-old midfielder. He's been taken out of the squads for both England and Sunderland, but his character is still playable on other areas of the game. "Adam Johnson has been removed from the Active Rosters of both Sunderland and England in FIFA 16," an EA Sports spokesperson told Newsbeat. "We're working to remove him from other modes within the game as soon as possible." Fans have been discussing Johnson's place in FIFA 16. "Dyl" thinks he should be removed. A club spokesman told MailOnline it had 'nothing to do with first team, who would never be tested in this way', and was an educational exercise for the club's young professionals in the youth team. It's hard to believe that some dozy ****er actually sat down and bothered to type out that complete non-story.
That's the thing, though - stick a bullshit headline on it and mention Adam Johnson, and you can sit back and watch the hits pile up! Modern journalism...
I was thinking more of the non story angle. The HDM is full of them especially these 10 things about Hull lists.
That FIFA thing is a non-story too. Ridiculous the idea that someone could be offended or somehow affected by seeing his name or an animated depiction of his face on a game.
