It is quite odd, but commercially taking cash has always been king in my business, now I do not take card payments and try not to take cash.

It simply is not a viable means of payment.

I often would have tens of thousands of pounds on me, not anymore. Two of the reasons are that it cost too much for me to insure the cash beyond 3 k and just taking debit cards is a nightmare. So now most people pay by online transfers.

No, Sky haven't announced any of their Championship fixtures beyond March 19th.

Hard for me to fathom the ticket selling and the move to no cash. The shops are already there selling shirts and scarfs, with workers and i can't see them being rushed of their feet. Would it be so hard for them to sell tickets as well?

This would of course be addition to the on-line sales.

Given the opportunity to go, children definitely would. It's other factors which unfortunately prevent this like travel, cost or, maybe in few cases, lack of effort on their parents behalf.

I suspect lack of effort or interest on the part of parents is a major cause. As I said I used to go to Middlesbrough a lot and that is no better off a place than Hull but there you found the courses having to turn kids away. Travel isn't an issue if these are held at local schools. Having said that there were 3 times as many junior football leagues in Middlesbrough, a smaller place, than in Hull. Maybe it is more of a football place than Hull.
Maybe soppy sods are to blame. Where I live in East Riding a few years ago on a course I passed by near me I was watching the kids enjoying themselves in spite of the rain and hanging on every word the coaches said. Some woman wrote to the paper saying parents should be ashamed of themselves for subjecting their kids to this ordeal and the organisers were guilty of child cruelty. No doubt she thought they would be better off slouched in front of a
TV or playing on a games console oblivious to the fact they were having a whale of a time.

Can you not see or unwilling to acknowledge the courses arent put on anywhere near where the kids are. It needs to tangible. If the only course in the ER was in Goole how do the kids from Brid get there?
The single mum on Longhill who's 26 with a 6 year old who wants to go to a football week also has a 3 year old. How does she get to the KC? But the Rugby League team are putting a week long course on at East Mount. Which is she able to walk to and drop off her kid and pick him up and which is unattainable?

If that school assembly all week is telling the kids Hull City are running a football school in the half term on their playing field they'll go. Its that simple.

These courses are run all over the place, Chazz. Were going strong 25 years ago when my kids attended them. Held on school playing fields, sports fields. Maybe apathy rules in Hull. People always seem to find a reason for not doing something as it is too difficult whereas in Middlesbrough, an equally poor place their numerous soccer schools were that popular they were turning people away.

Many thanks for asking the question. I don't particularly want priority but when I get the booking confirmation emails invariably they include the words 'sell first'. This means the tickets are often yards past the touchline stuck away in a corner, oddly enough though not a problem on Tuesday night. :)
Given the fact Keith Brown (aka Hats) was asking the same question for me at the long gone FLC meetings, and 18 months ago James Mooney was promising to sort this matter out, I won't hold my breath (bad news for some!).

I imagine it all comes down to money. They'll likely get more money having them in the East Riding plus maybe those kids in the area are more likely to go (again more money). That's only an assumption (I've got no facts to support that).

If that is the case, the club needs to change its ethos towards the younger generation. Stop trying to make money out of them and instead encourage them to watch, support and play.

To be honest, the question was asked by someone else and you might have more joy now, as there's an Away Direct member on the FWG.

A minute passed. Then another. Then, another minute. Then... another minute passed. Then another minute passed. And another. A further minute passed quickly, followed by another minute, when suddenly, a different minute passed, followed by another different minute. And another. And yet another further different minute. A minute passed. I glanced at my watch. It was a minute past. This was it. A minute passed. After a moment, another minute passed. I waited a minute while a minute passed quickly past. And then, a minute which seemed to last an hour but was only a minute... passed.
