Is this the high calibre manager Ashton has talked about christ Lee has not even got his stripes yet. Why not a proven manager that apparantly the club have said have applied in numbers.
watched him on the league show and pointedly the managers job wasn't even mentioned, read into that what you like.
I hope this doesn't happen, not because I don't like Lee, because I think it would be an untenable situation for him given his history of abuse from certain supporters under the direction of his dad. I think GJ left a more bitter taste than Lee ever did and so I would not like to see him put in that position. Based on his credentials he shouldn't even get an interview, yet alone the job, and if he should be hired perhaps many of us might see it as another dent in the armour of our rebuild and commitment.
He's not interested.. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...erested-in-bristol-city-speculation-1-7710407
he would snap your hands off if he was offered it. i Like LJ and think he is doing a great job at the tykes, but the job i think is to soon, however he could come in and shock us all.
I think he's made a promising enough start to his managerial career, but unfortunately, the stigma that was attached to him by too large a number of City fans whilst he was a player says to me that the conditions would be too difficult for him to be a success here. Barnsley may be having a bit of a tough time (though I for one am a bit amazed that they stayed in the Championship for as long as they did), but it's a good sized club to be at, and if he can get them promoted in the next couple of years, that would give him an impressive achievement on his CV and I see that as more likely than him coming to us and successfully moving us up the table.
if we cant or won"t go after the obvious so called big name options, then I can think of a lot worse choices, he certainly seems one the brighter young managers out there, and to my mind a better shout than dinosaurs like Warnock and co.
I don't get this that we are a club to soon bollocks. To me Barnsley have had a more successful history than us so it's a bit condescending to them to say that we are a big step up.
I think more of us in the fan base could see we were better with Lj in the side, there will always be some that never like a player or manager. I just don't get the ashton thing about how surprised they were by the quality and names applied. SL says he want a top, proven manager then he needs to employ one. They have applied on what ashton has said.
I was starting to wonder if SL even knows what a top class manger even looks like but then I remembered that he met one once and his name was Steve Coppell, and look what happened that time. Ian Holloway it is then?
Had it been the case that we lost our manager for whatever reason but were safe from relegation, then it could have been a punt.....as it is, in my opinion, not a good time to have a rookie from League 1...... Some would have a problem LJ being here......I'm not one!! Maybe one day!
RR 'I think more of us in the fan base could see we were better with Lj ' As did Hearts, Chesterfield and Kilmarnock. Truly amazing he was sacked and retired at 31. I've felt a bit sorry for you the way RODney and Banksy take you to task. Not any more. You are beyond help.
Can't anyone on here understand that bookies odds are dictated by the amount of money they are taking on certain targets. The money being laid on LJ is because of his previous connection to the club and canny punters are jumping on it as he fits the criteria required. Non starter in my opinion. It will be Pemberton..
No contact from City.. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTO...ached-Robins/story-28661956-detail/story.html
IMO it won't be a Pearson or a Curbishley or a Moyes. Had anyone of that calibre applied then surely even our backward board would have snapped them up by now ? I've resigned myself to it being Pemberton for the rest of the season, so that speaks volumes about who did and didn't apply ffor the poisoned chalice of a job.
